I had Bells Palsy likely caused by shingles. I had a single tiny lesion in my ear. He looks and describes exactly what I experienced.

Of course, the updated recommendation for *two* chickenpox vaccines (keeping the first at about a year old, and adding the second at 4-6 years old) came out in 1994, when I believe he was 12 years old.

Most preteens and teens did not get the second one for full coverage at that time.

He’s been an addict since age 13, more than half his life. Maintaining sobriety is very tough with that history, especially when you’re young and surrounded by temptation. We’ll never know if the shingles explanation is true or a cover.

Ramsay Hunt syndrome is very similar but more severe and wide spread neurological symptoms accompanying the face paralysis and less likely to recover completely.

I hope you recovered fully. My sister did but a friend did not.

No one is denying that the explanations they are giving are plausible side effects of COVID. But they are rare. So to happen in the same household to young, physically healthy people in their 20s is just extremely sus.

This. It very well may be that he doesn’t recover from these effects. My uncle did not. He taped his eyelid to sleep and eventually had surgery to try to fix it (so it closed).
