There are many of us in DC and NOVA still that are pro gun. I’m a member of a black rifle owners club in DC. As black folk, we take 2a very seriously given our history with the government. We as black folk have every right to not trust the US government ever again (if you are white, read history before you call me a quack) and every right to be armed against it.

I don't understand this line of argument at all, regardless of skin color. This isn't the 18th century where a bunch of red coats without supply lines have to fight against an entrenched population.

Do you not realize that if the mighty U.S. government wanted to take you out, or take a few thousand people out at once, it has the means to do so in a few short hours without any collateral damage to its troops (with most of that time spent simply finding you assuming you were on the run and hiding and a minute to actually kill you?) What's your AR-15 gonna accomplish? It wouldn't even qualify as bringing a knife to a gun fight.

You people just watch way too many stupid action movies.

I certainly hope that I don't ever see real conflict between the federal government and the citizenry in my lifetime, but asymmetrical warfare is a very real and effective strategy. But more importantly, it isn't just about some far-fetched notion of conflict with the feds. Many people are concerned (and rightfully so) about whether their government, both federal and local, will actually be there to protect them when the proverbial s&*% hits the fan. A lot of people who never saw themselves as "gun people" purchased firearms in droves when they watched cities and neighborhoods looted and destroyed amidst all the protests within the last few years.

Machine guns have been illegal since the mid 80’s. Educate yourself.

NP. New machine guns are illegal. You can still buy pre-1986 machine guns.

Yup. You can order right off the internet.

There are roughly 32 million gun owners in the US. The military is about 1.5 million members. Since we aren't going to use drones to track down 32 million people, it would be a door-to-door search and a war of attrition. Who is going to win that war? If you need a modern example, see Afghanistan.

EXACT:Y!!! As a Jew, I wholly support you and your thinking. Why on EARTH would you trust a government that had no problem enslaving your people? Why would Jews and others who have been marginalized and massacred do same?

People on this forum should take five minutes to digest what this particular poster is saying. Very articulate and reasoned. Clearly well-trained, responsible and not interested in mass chaos when it comes to guns/gun safety. Understands both the constitution and our nation’s history - and also has a clear view of other nation’s history. No one is even considering why the Uighur’s are still enslaved, tortured, murdered. Certainly Democrats in Congress do not.

Thank you PP, for your brilliant responses to the flailing on this forum. A pleasure to read.

Yes and BILLIONS of them have had to use them to fend of the marauders as our poor cities all burnt completely to the ground, so many dead, so many homeless, it’s WWIII out there, the apocalypse.

Ukraine was invaded. Its own government isn't trying to "take them out". Different situation.

When Russia raided, the Ukrainian government handed out weapons. Most civilians in Ukraine don't own guns, and certainly not assault rifle types.

DP.. the problem is that the proliferation of gun ownership corresponds to more mass shootings. So, the "asymmetrical warfare" just keeps getting ratcheted up.

This is the violence leads to more violence proverb.

Both posters are idiots without any understand of what it means to actually fight an army. You would not win against the local police force. It is laughable to think a few soft fat old men with assault rifles would be a threat to a company of infantry let a lone an army. The more disturbing part of your post is that you openly say you will use violence if you disagree with the elected government. Why didn’t you grab you gun and storm the Capitol?

Wow. What a completely unhinged reaction to those posts, which did not in any way, shape, or form advocate violence as a form of protest against the government. It might be time to up the dosage on your antipsychotics.

Apparently the NRA wants to move from Fairfax to Texas. I guess it's a better fit for their lawlessness and corruption.

What would it take to remove the NRA’S tax free status? They certainly should be paying taxes.
