Jif recall - salmonella

Anonymous
Just got an email from Costco to check my jar.

I originally thought we were in the clear based on the article I read the other day but Costco's email was much clearer. If your jar's 7-digital lot number ends in 425, it's part of the recall.

0123425.

It says we can toss them out and come to the store for a refund.

Yep - I love natural peanut butter but my kids won't eat it. They're Jif lovers so I buy it for them.

It's not being a snob. It's something real food (just ground peanuts, maybe with some salt) instead of peanuts mixed with hydrogenated oils.

There are NO hydrogenated oils in PB.

I feel like they were super late on the recall. We ordered a 3pk a while ago from Amazon and it shipped, delivered and has long been eaten by now.

Which do you like?

+1 Please, what kind? And none of that truly all-natural stuff that separates into an oily layer on top. Not doing that.
This is PP and that’s exactly why I asked. We’ve tried before and hated having to basically hand-churn it to get it somewhat palatable. I don’t want to have to work for a PB& J!

Kirkland organic is the best. My vegetarian family eats too much peanut butter to rely on the stuff with added oils and sugars (nothing wrong with that for an occasional sandwich though!), so we’ve tried every “peanuts + salt” kind known to man. This doesn’t require mixing and is the perfect consistency when kept in the fridge. Highly recommend! https://www.costco.com/kirkland-signature-organic-peanut-butter%2C-28-oz%2C-2-count.product.100334334.html

Thank you for the notice.

I just returned my jars to Costco and it was super easy. Most people in line had them as well, ha.

They just scanned my membership card and put the money back. I was in and out of that part of the store in under 5 mins.
