So, can you tell me how to get free programing for our school? I asked and they said we had to pay the fees. |
|
They are extremely expensive for low income schools where PTA's have little to no money:

I believe the programs MCPS has contracted with them for are intended for traditionally underrepresented populations in STEM. |
Finite? How many Bethesda kids? What you are saying is it an exclusive “school” in Bethesda. |
It's not a business. It's a non-profit. |
So, you really don't know and are speculating? I reached out and asked for free and they said no. We just wanted an hour virtual program. |
LOL!!! Then why do they need $2.5M of MCPS cash? |
Rosemary Hills Elementary School field trip to Kid Museum is $16.80 per student. |
If you read the RFP, that is how it described the intent of the program. |
Meaningless. Let's see the contract. |
DP There are PLENTY of businesses in this area that obtain a bogus ‘non-profit’ status. |
Can you explain how MCPS students have directly benefitted from the $2.5 million dollars that the Kid Museum has received? |
The exploratorium is incredible and huge. We need something like that here but it would have to be in a warehouse in Rockville. |
Plus the charge for bus. It is very expansive. Years ago,I volunteered for Hand on Science which charged $10 per person per session. This non profit just ripped MCPS and its students off. |
| My kid goes to a low income school that has chiefly URM kids. Their STEM club is doing a series of half-day field trips to the KID Museum. I’m not sure what the school is paying but there’s no cost to the families. |
