What?? A student patrol could protect another student from a car jumping the curb? The student was there with an adult who couldn’t prevent this. |
| There are no student patrols at every bus stop. Who in the world thought that? This was freak accident. It isn't wrong to wonder how to boy is doing. |
You seem happy to have this on here to gossip about. |
Agree, nothing wrong to wonder how boy is doing. Wrong to post it on here as a grab for information. |
Yes, I am thrilled about it.

Can we get old people off the road now? |
Just heard on the radio that the boy died. Prayers for the family
|
| This is just awful. |
This isn’t an MCPS issue. At a certain age, drivers need to be tested. Look what happened on Connecticut Ave a month ago. Prayers to this family, so devastating. |
| I drive that road twice a day. So sad. When I was seven, my classmate got hit by a car and died. Since I was a kid, I did not think about it much at that time. Now my kid is around the same age, I think about it a lot. A big loss. So sad. |

Drivers over the age of 65 should be checked every year for cognitive and physical problems that prevent them from safely operating a vehicle. FULL STOP.
Are there any politicians out there with enough of a spine to stand up for children over the voting elderly??? Disgusted. |
|
Yes, the child did not survive his injuries. Horrible.
https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-beat/police-fire/ashburton-elementary-student-has-died-after-being-struck-at-school-bus-stop/ This bus stop is at the intersection of a small street and a larger street that has speed cameras and other traffic controlling features. Not sure how this can be MCPS’s fault. |
I'm sure the BOE hater will find some way to blame them. My DC and I were hit by a car crossing the road to a bus stop. Thankfully, we are fine. My heart goes out to the family. So tragic. A childhood friend of mine lost their child a few years ago from an unexpected medical condition. The child was 11. I don't know if it's just because I'm getting older, but I seem to know more and more people who've lost their children. Makes me want to keep my kids in a bubble.
