Cold going around with sore throat, stuffy nose?

Anonymous
My allergies are crazy this week, maybe it’s that. Or a cold.

I'm OP, it's day 4. My nose has been a nonstop faucet days 3-4 omfg. I have not been this sick in 8 years.

So 12+ tests used? Over $100 worth of tests? For what? I just don’t need to know that badly.

I cannot imagine a person using $100+ of COVID tests “out of curiosity.” What a waste.

I think it's very worthwhile to know if you have natural antibodies to COVID.

Sounds like a cold. Stay home. People are relaxing the mask wearing so colds are going to happen. Feel better soon!

Pp tested 2 people daily for a week. She could have tested once on day 5 or 6 with the same result. It was so wasteful of her.

Yes, this sounds like a virus that’s been going around.

+1, if you're not sure and it's true, Covid home tests are not picking it up like they used to. Go get a PCR, that will give you a solid yes or no.

I had this, never tested positive (only tested twice a couple days apart)
Gave it to my dad, exact same symptoms, tested positive right away

Wow that's crazy. I hope it is covid - then it's not wasted misery! At least I'd get more immunity. Did your nose start running nonstop after 3-4 days? I'm hoping it's not my allergies. Mine are severe, and having trouble keeping nasal spray med in my nose over 2 minutes

Not true.

We had this go through our house. One person tested positive for Covid but everyone else tested negative. We all had the same symptoms.

It was true for us. Didn't get a positive until it was far enough that the kids could go back to school, so what good is that?

I had these exact symptoms. Tested negative on day 2 and positive on day 3. Home tests might not pick it up if tested too early or late into it, but it is omicron.

One of my neighbors said it took him two weeks to kick a cold that went through his house a few weeks ago.

Same here!
My DD got exactly what OP described, we had to keep her home for almost a whole week. Our infant got sick too, but a much milder version of it. Adults were spared. Multiple negative covid tests.

Same for DD. Covid negative multiple home tests, and no fever, but no school obviously - she sounds terrible between congestion and throat. She said stuff keeps dripping down her throat.

Yes your personal experience trumps that of an actual study. So keep telling everyone the home tests aren’t “picking it up like they used to”.
