Cold going around with sore throat, stuffy nose?

Don’t care. Knowing it’s Covid no longer changes anything.

My daughter and I had horrible colds two weeks ago. Felt absolutely shitty for 3 days and symptoms didn’t go away until around day 7. We both had rapids and PCRs… I even went to Urgent Care on day 5 because I was having trouble believing it wasn’t Covid. All tests negative, but it was no fun. I’m guessing it’s because our immune systems weren’t used to all the germs!!!!

The new covid variants may not show up on the current tests.

Either way, you should stay home when you are sick but a decent person would want to know and take precautions not to spread it.

My son and I both had those exact symptoms. Pcr and rapid tests were both negative. We both tested everyday more out of curiosity than concern. He tested positive on rapid test on day 4 and I did on day 6. Pcr tests 7 days after the first were finally positive.

Yes!! 3/4 if us had it. Multiple negative Covid tests for all of us.

So 12+ tests used? Over $100 worth of tests? For what? I just don’t need to know that badly.

NP. Then you do you. However, rest assured that there are still people out here that don't want to spread Covid variants. Consequently, they actually do want to know that "badly."

Also, it is kind of obvious that positivity with the variants isn't being detected as early as the initial Covid strain.

So, it might not be a cold. It might be Covid.

I cannot imagine a person using $100+ of COVID tests “out of curiosity.” What a waste.

I don’t think this is true.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the burdensome costs of treating COVID for the person to whom the patient with "just a cold" transmits it.

Or, maybe you're just a jerk.

This is me today. Took a rapid test and was negative. Just generally feel achy and crappy too. My 3 year old has a runny nose but otherwise is fine, husband isn't sick.

You don’t need to test every day. Day 5 or 6 is fine. And if you are staying home it doesn’t matter anyone. Amount spent on testing does not correlate to whether you spread it or not.

I had this for over a month. Just finally got over it a couple days ago but had it since late January. Cold that turned into a sinus infection. Sore throat, congestion, cough, headaches, body aches. Awful.

Huh? Not this poster but when I have a cold I’m very careful to not spread it. Have always been that way.

We had a cold go through our house. First person took two tests. Second and third person took one test. All negative while symptomatic. Felt pretty comfortable it wasn’t covid but still didn’t go into my office and was extra careful to mask around others.
