FCPS HS teacher here. 6 kids out of three periods did not wear a mask. 1 teacher in a department of 14 didn't.
I agree with the PP who said that there will be more and more maskless after spring break. |

4th grader - 6 kids out of 20 were maskless
6th grader - 1 kid out of 22 maskless Both teachers wore masks, but 4th grader reports that his teacher's kids did not wear masks. I am guessing teachers may be feeling some peer pressure to continue masking. |
Not a liar. The teacher posted it in Schoology. I read the post myself. My child doesn't want me to report it because they are scared of repercussions.

I’m a teacher and there were only 8-10 people in our elementary school unmasked.
Most of my kids took them off when they saw I wasn’t wearing it. As a teacher I feel like a weight was off my shoulder today! |
Don’t believe you either |
Truly liberal people! |
My kid is at a liberal ES and about his class was unmasked today. |
Edit* half his class was unmasked |
I am you except I gave my kids full permission to unmask and they did, even though they were in the vast minority (elementary school). But I have all along followed CDC guidance - vaccines, boosters, masking, social distancing, no traveling, etc. I'm not going to stop following the CDC now that they are easing restrictions! |
I think after the state of the union tonight democrats and their supporting news outlets will give everyone official permission to be mask free. It’s a shame that all the people bleating about CDC guidelines suddenly don’t think the agency is credible. |
Basic freedom is nice. |
That’s really sad! We are at a private school where the unmasking date is at the end of the month. We will unmask Day 1 and I don’t care if people think we are Repubs (we are not fwiw) |
I am one of the first spring break posters above. The guidelines have shifted from "preventing COVID" to "living with COVID". For the next month, I am still in "preventing COVID" mode so as to not mess up our spring break plans. If the cruise ship industry moved into "living with COVID" mode, we'd ditch the mask now... but as of today, we will need to test negative to cruise. After April 9, I will move happily into "living with COVID" mode. It doesn't mean I feel like the CDC is any less credible. |
| we have a big international trip in April and I have heard the test negative to arrive for vaccinated/boosted is going to be dropped but has not happened yet so I asked my kids to wear a mask until the testing gets dropped or until after the trip. they are fine with it because they want to miss a week of school. |
| Not surprised it was so few unmasked today. The number will get larger and larger slowly, and a big jump after spring break. |
