I love the name June but not with Rose.
|
I’m a 1970s Laura, and I love my name. Strong, feminine, easy to pronounce. Gloria is beautiful, too. I do like June, but yes, people will ask whether she’s born in June. I wouldn’t that dissuade you from using it, since it meets all your other criteria and also would make a good sister for Rose. |
Yes, it will be. I have a friend named April, and she is always asked if she was born in April. |
| Emily and Alice have been the best suggestions. |
| Georgia |
| Gloria reminds me of Gloria Steinem so I like it. |
I was going to say Lois. |
|
I like Grace from your list.
Also: Bea Devon Daria Ivy Julia Opal Tess Tara Violet |
|
I like Ruth and Ruby as names but not w a sister Rose. I don’t like the alliterative sibling names.
I like June but do think she’ll constantly be asked if she was born in June which may or may not matter to her but to me seems pretty annoying to go thru life w constantly being asked about your name. I like Holly a lot. I also like Greta. I love the idea of using your grandmas name but don’t really like the name Gloria that much so I’d use it as a middle instead of a first. Other names that come to mind: Marie Sarah Thea Camille Laura |
| What about Jane instead of June? |
np I like Laura! Gloria is better than Hazel but, not my favorite. |
| I haven't read through the whole thread but I am suggesting Honor as an addition to the list. It's a strong name, not over-used. |
Just Bea? Not Beatrice or Beatrix? How strange. Rose and Devon ( sounds more like a boy name, poor Devon) Opal? Yikes |
Honor is not a real name. It is something you get. |
Yes, it is. It's a virtue name which used to be much more popular- think Verity, Felicity, Faith, Prudence etc. |
