Wow no, do not name her Eleanor, have you been on a playground in the last 5 years? It’s a lovely name but everyone coalesced around it simultaneously.

Actually most of this list except for Marjorie and Pearl is like an attendance list for half the PKs in the country.

+1. Love this name. Familiar but not common, easy to spell and pronounce, and so pretty while also strong.

Nice name, but it’s like naming your kids Isa and Bella.

Not really. Rose and Marie are both common, separate names on their own. Isa and Bella are two parts of the same name and are not commonly used on their own.

They exist on their own, but that’s irrelevant(you’re missing the point). “Rosemarie” would sound equally ridiculous. Same for Rose + Etta, Rose + Mary, Rose + Ella, Rose +Anne, Rose + Lynn, etc.

June rose sounds like you are describing the time the rise bloomed

I find the flower theme 10x worse than names that start with the same letter. Too cute-sy

Also:
Maeve
Hazel
Vera
Ava

OP here, I like Vera but am concerned about Veer-uh vs Vare-uh. I want to be sure the pronunciation is obvious. Such a pretty name though.

I have never heard anyone pronounce it “veer-uh”

I’ve never heard someone not pronounce it this way

I change my vote.

The fact that it’s Grandma’s name means a lot to me!

Aw thanks! I think DH may not be sold on this one but we shall see. I was thinking “Glo” as a nickname.

Love-love-love Glo as her nickname !
