I change my vote.

The fact that it’s Grandma’s name means a lot to me!

Aw thanks! I think DH may not be sold on this one but we shall see. I was thinking “Glo” as a nickname.

Yes they will. And it's not that great of a name anyway.

Margaret. Shares a common root referring to a flower, and lots of nickname possibilities, including Maisie and Daisy.

Yes, absolutely. A no go for this reason.

- Last name is a short, strong, one-syllable name that pairs well with most names.
- Middle name is going to be a family name that doesn't go well with much, but is what it is.
- Very important to me that her name be phonetic and easy to pronounce. I myself have a constantly mispronounced name and will not do that to my child.
- A strong name is also important to me; nothing too precious.
- We are not religious - I know some of these have a strong religious association. Not sure if that's weird.

Here is my working list of names. I'd like thoughts on these, and/or ideas for other names to consider. Thanks!

Ruby
Grace
Gloria
Greta
Etta
Eve
June

Two girls with R names is too cutesy for my taste. From your list, I like June.

Gloria. My mom’s college roommate is named Gloria nicknamed Gigi. Every time I hear my mom answer a call from her with “Hi, G” I think “what a cool name”.

The plural of Gloria is Glorias, not Gloria’s.
