He no longer practices because he is in prison. But these women weren’t doing full term abortions in his office because of some horrific fetal malformation. Because they would have been done in a hospital. These were elective abortion in 3 trimester. So stop with the “every late abortion is a wanted pregnancy” BS. It’s equally as crazy as protecting an embryo. |

Not according to the psychopaths in this thread. |
If you don’t like second trimester abortions you should support easy access to first trimester abortions. |
No well off woman was seeing Dr Gosnell. These were people who were failed at every step of the way. If they had access to abortion in the first trimester they would have likely opted for it. But when you impose stupid restrictions and make people who can’t afford a $400 car repair come up with $1000 for an abortion, this is all very predictable. |
Are you unaware that the third trimester starts at 27 weeks? And at that point ending the pregnancy would entail a delivery. Gosnell is in prison. Tell us where other clinics are using d&e’s on a 27+ week pregnant woman. |
Finally the GOP publishes it’s party platform! Thanks for the succinct info. |
I’m sure they are out there because there appears to be a demand for elective late term abortions, which is horrific. And I say this as pro-choice up to viability supporter. |
Liar on all accounts. There is no “demand” for “abortions” after 27 weeks. And you are not a supporter of abortion rights. |
The way posters write about having downs and/or being disabled is disgusting. You can be pro choice as well as be concerned about the movement to screen out and abort a baby with a disability. Look at how posters describe what it would be to have a disabled child (a burden, a life sentence, a life not worth living or supporting). It is just incredibly sad and awful. This 100% is eugenics. You can support everyone's right to choose but you can also have a discussion on what it says about society and have we gone too far. Am I the last generation of people with my disorder (yes it is screened for now)? Are the disabled unfit for society? Just get rid of us all? No deaf, no blind, no downs, no autism, no one with spina bifida, no one in wheelchairs, everyone perfect. Perfect babies. Perfect families. Strong society. No diversity. Have the conversation. Be careful with the knee jerk reaction that everyone who receives a positive downs test would automatically abort or that their life cannot be fulfilling or that their parents wished they were different. I am pro choice, but it's hard for me to listen and read about people making statements about the disabled that are just nasty and mean. We matter. We have worthy lives. We are a part of society. The Atlantic has this short discussion on this very topic. https://youtu.be/C5vVBeJWx_w |
No, that’s called choice. Not everyone wants or is capable of caring for a child, let alone a child with severe health issues. Down syndrome is not just about learning disabilities and can be quite severe. |
Good grief, you are a terrible troll. The only “demand” for abortions at 27 weeks is from women who discover their child has a significant health issue that may not be compatible with life and/or presents significant health challenges. In a country where health care is a privilege and people have to set up Go Fund Me pages to cover the expenses of things like chemotherapy or life-saving surgery or NICU costs for their children, it makes absolute sense that women may decide that giving birth to a child with severe abnormalities who may not live long or live without suffering AND that caring for that child while bankrupting the family isn’t a path she wants to take. God bless those poor women and the excruciating choice the have to make - but it should be THEIR choice. Not the government’s, not yours, not the GOP’s. |
You realize Trump is for eugenics, right? |
I am pro-choice, but this is not "just like Texas," and is similar to laws in other countries restricting abortion after 20 or 24 weeks for the same reasons. I object to this bill not including fetal deformities or defects. I had a friend go through that nightmare and she chose to terminate just after the 20 week ultrasound. |
