That’s not blaming the city of Richmond, it’s a reference to the state capital where the governors office is located. Just like how people will use “Washington DC” to refer to the federal government. |
Montgomery County might be a better alternative for you. Housing prices are also cheaper because Maryland just can't attract companies like Amazon and has one middling state university and a bunch of red brick colleges and universities that train baristas. |
| One really unfortunate reality is that years of fiscal responsibility under Democrats has handed Youngkin a sizeable surplus that will let him slash taxes while maintaining services. By the time the house of cards comes crashing down, he will be out of office and someone else will become the scapegoat when Richmond has to slash education and healthcare funding to cover Republican-created deficits. |
Why do you think Amazon is going to stay in Va? Business are already fleeing. This is what you get when you use the government to take away individual freedoms. Youngkin and the company have to go. Time to issues a recall or impeach him. |
DP. Amazon has enough invested in Northern Virginia that it will probably see the project through. But it wouldn’t surprise me if in a few years it opens a process to find HQ3 so it can phase out Virginia over time. |

The Youngkin administration has deleted the diversity, equity and inclusion section of the governor’s website, and appears to have eliminated the DEI cabinet position.
Apparently diversity, equity and inclusion have no place in the Youngkin administration. https://news.yahoo.com/youngkin-eliminates-cabinet-level-dei-163904493.html |
We already knew that. |
| Andrew Wheeler, Rebecca Glover, Jeff Goettman. Youngkin sure is looking out for unemployable Trumpers. |
They can make that choice but then the child can be disciplined for breaking a school rule. Do you see how this works? |
Exactly! And most voters won't even be aware of this. |
Classic GOP. Unfortunately. Make a poop show of everything but blame the other party down the line for the sins of the GOP past. I wish more people would wake up but stupid is as stupid does. GOP counts on the stupid. |
| The civilized areas of the country are laughing at you, Virginians. Enjoy five years of mockery and shaming. I would suggest to you few sane people from VA to come into MD, but frankly you can’t be trusted not to screw things up here. |
| VA always does this. In four years they will be tired of him, and he will have messed things up just like the screw up republican who put tolls all over VA. Then a democrat will be voted in. It's the way of my people. |
Grew up in NOVA and gladly moved to MD when it came to buying our home and raising our children. Great schools, both private and public, diverse and open-minded population. Virginia has tried to leave the Confederate-loving, bumpkin identity behind, but it is obviously still there. But tell me more about those housing prices. Really, who would want to move into the Loudoun school district now? |
Bet ya’ lots of reactionary VA people would. |
