Due to the Biden inflation the minimum wage law is pretty meaningless.

Most businesses are having to start payscales at $17 per hour and this is in one of the poorest counties in Maryland in order to get applicants for unskilled labor jobs. We are starting at $20 per hour for GED or high school grads and we tell the applicants their rate of pay moves to $21 per hour after 90 days.

Businesses starting at $11 or $12 per hour simply won't get applicants and this is in one of the poorer counties in Maryland.

Unskilled labor is running $17 - $20 per hour for G.E.D. and felons.

Walk-ins are welcome. I had to renew my license recently, and was easily able to get an appt.
