DD hates her moles and freckles on face

Moles though can be annoying. I had a lot of friends take them off in middle school. Especially if they're prominent, growing hair or getting bigger. It's pretty cheap too.

My kid had a nasty mole removed at age 10. It was not cheap, but worth every penny. We used a pediatric plastic surgeon out of Children's Hospital.

Huh? Mine were like $150 to get them taken off. Ones on my back that were possible melanoma were free.

When you take them off be sure they're biopsied.

What a horrible thing to say.

Oh I have! And she just points out how much bigger/darker/more noticeable her moles are. She has a much bigger issue with the moles than the freckles.

Why not take her to a dermatologist and explore options?

If she asked once and it didn't happen, she may think you aren't on board with it and stopped asking.

Moles can get bigger, deeper, textured with age (not due to cancer). If plastic surgeon will do it now, get it done . A traditional dermatologist won't do anything.

This is who I saw, sadly not in DC, but gives you an idea what to look for.

I just called and they can see her in March. I don't mind travelling. Thank you for the recommendation!!!

So glad to help! For me they did consult & treatment at same time. Someone else asked about cost, I had three removed, some other spots zapped, even maybe 11 lines botox, all less than $2000. One mole was deeper and had to go back again for no charge. But it was obvious before even to me it would probably need a second zap, better than doing to much at first.. The office staff is all so nice.

I had had moles removed by shaving and lasting, costing $150-250 each, and usually cheaper for more than one (like $250 for the first, and then $125). So bet on between $500-$1k for multiple. And that incentivized you to just do it all at once instead of a few here and there. Maybe you can schedule around the time of spring break so she can hide her face for a week after?

This is great OP. I had moles as a child and it really was difficult for me. Insurance covered a lot of it. You are doing the right thing for your DD.

She probably gave up as u said no! Poor dd

Please get this taken care of. As PP Saud she may have given up. Don't make her go thru high school with a mole in the middle of her forehead.

This. And yes it is to each their own. What we're discussing here is those who are bothered by them.

Are you in the area? There are doctors here in the DC area. We got our recommendation through the peditrician.

Why can't she get the moles removed? I had a mole removed from my face in my 20s and it was so easy, I should've done it years before. Let her do it...
