Youngkin will put an end to TJ. Watch it happen.
Please don’t Florida our Virginia. Florida schools are almost the worst in the country, and they don’t have to be. We can recover from the impact of closures and covid. We will never recover from Youngkin.

Yep, because going back to when white middle class students were getting way more than everyone (and they still are) was definitely better (for them).

Totally fake news. look at funding in Title 1 schools and staff student ratios compared to non title 1. There’s something called google. Try using it.

Perhaps. But he could at least get rid of Northam’s K-12 mask mandate and let that be a local decision.

He won’t let it be a local decision. He has supported DeSantis and Abbot who ban mask mandates.

Great mandates should be banned. Parents can still choose to send kids in one.

They can set state policy for the entire state. And look at the Virginia Math Pathways Initiative. It will affect all districts. It needs to be stopped.

You don’t need to end the the value of our votes for VMPI. It can definitely be changed through other ways. Consider how much it changed already.

That doesn’t achieve public health goals . Look at the studies that show hoe many more cases there are in districts with no mask mandates.

Why don’t you want to send a sign to the Republican Party to stop devaluing our elections and encouraging violent insurrections?

Why? Because you believe some RWNJ lies?

CRT and “advanced math” are RWNJ lies.

Stop spreading misinformation, OP.

This is not smart. You will regret voting for Governor on one issue that can be addressed in different ways . Unless you dislike democracy?

If you don’t want to vote for him, that’s okay but this should not be the reason. My niece goes to a public magnet school in Florida. She had to apply and be accepted. She’s in the same grade as my child and I can honestly say all through school her school has been more rigorous than what we have in FCPS. Even before the acceptance to the magnet school. I would move there in a second if our jobs didn’t keep us here.

Nope. This is where we start to fight back. These School Boards have been a disaster and Terry McAuliffe will just turn a blind eye to more of the same old nonsense. With Youngkin we at least have a shot at a state Secretary of Education who isn’t a radical ideologue and CRT supporter like Atif Qarni and maybe, just maybe, the cretins on the school board will start cleaning up their act before they come up for re-election in 2023.

OP I could have written your post. Yes I am voting for Youngkin and yes I’m having a hard time -still- typing those words. But we have 3 kids in FCPS and think the situation has reached a point of near crisis. I know the governor is not directly responsible for this but we have to send a message. This is the only way we know to do it. We are beyond frustrated and few there is no other way

NP. Math teacher here. Not a RWNJ. Please do anything you can to stop the VPMI. I will retire early before it hits schools if it stays as planned. It’s not good.

You are so stuck in your ways that you don’t want to blend algebra and geometry concepts?

Sounds like you should retire.
