No good coach would think this. Good coaches beat good teams. Overton did not do this once this season. Good coaches teach their players things like good sportsmanship etc. Overton has never once done this. Good coaches don't cheat. Overton has made a career out of cheating.

The above comment has to have been written by Coach O.

Evident you’re a Coach O hater. NOT one coach around this very area has the guts or gumption to even schedule a DeMatha, but he did with a clearly undersized team.

He scheduled a Private school this year, NO other coach in this area would do that

He scheduled powerhouse Varina, no FCPS school would do that, so pls spare me

He only has 2 decent teams, he crushed somewhat decent WSHS and lost to RB. So as far as the ntll district is concerned, it’s very weak and that’s why for years Hayfield was playing on borrowed time because beating up on teams in that district really would nvr prepare you for good playoff type teams

Maybe because this is nova public HS football, not Texas, and playing teams from Hyattsville and Henrico isn’t what it should be about?

Grown-ass men trying to relive their glory days through a bunch of HS kids is so sad to start with; trying to say it’s for them and not y’all is pathetic.

Correction…Overton never had any glory days.

He won a state championship as a player himself at Hyllton. His brother the DC won 2 at Hylton, atleast according to VHSL record books

No one who has ever truly succeeded at something would think that winning a public school state championship constitutes “glory days.”

Thanks for confirming I am correct.

When she dicked around for a week sending vague emails and let the Edison game play, a frustrated coach leaked the texts to the FT.

If this rumor is true, my bet is on the West Potomac coach, Chadwick Louisville. Fritts was the head coach and Assistant DSA at Mount Vernon for 7 years before he took the job at Hayfield last year. Louisville was one of his assistant coaches. I heard that he was the coach who organized the other coaches to send the letter threatening forfeit.

Louisville sucks as a coach, he won’t out scheme you, and when he can’t out athlete you he falls apart and he’ll lose it and place blame on kids and assts.

You guys think he’s the one who ratted Fritz out?

No one "ratted out" anyone. The guy Monty was texting with seemed like he understood Monty was getting himself in deep trouble and was trying to subtly warn him off. This guy probably forwarded the text to a bunch of other coach friends months ago. That's why there were rumors about "homeless" fraud since the summer. The coaches had all seen the text when they met with Reid. She is claiming she never saw it.

Again speculation, whomever had the text waited and for what, this type evidence could hv been presented up front and this debacle doesn’t get this far

But if that had happened your DS never would have gotten to step on the field for Hayfield as he would have been exposed as a cheater up front. We all know you would have been kicking and screaming if that had happened too.

So this person was basically an accomplice as they held on to this info, so my question is why now vs in the beginning, oh he suddenly grew a conscious. Not making excuses for the AD because he def knew what was possible and his greed cost him dearly. He’s able to resign and keep his benefits from the county, but the kids are simply told your seasons over is still not right.

Didn't the school board and Reid already have this information before it was leaked to the media?

The players dedicated countless hours to improving their skills and representing their team, only to have their opportunity for success taken away due to decisions beyond their control. These young athletes simply followed the instructions given by the adults in charge, trusting in their leadership. It’s crucial that the consequences for this situation target the adults who caused the problems, not the players who are now unfairly bearing the brunt of the fallout.

This clears the way for Madison to the championship and the money spent by Hayfield parents goes down the drain because FCPS’ new collusion with the VHSL. The parents ought to sue FCPS now.

This! These Hayfield football players that were impacted by this should sue as well as the FCPS employees that were transferred.

Truly clueless and laughable!
Please record the lawyers reaction when presented with this, it will go viral.

For the record, Bishop Ireton played Annandale this year. I get your point, but whatever.

Perhaps instead of routing the National district, Hayfield should have done what TJ did this season with regard to scheduling?

Welp, don’t know what they did. What did they do ?

Received an exemption to play small rural and DC Charter schools.

Oh Thomas Jefferson is the epitome of just fielding a team for sport. Football should not be on their available sports activities to play. Undersized undermanned and coaches that are only there for a paycheck.

Coaches don’t do it for the paycheck,‘it’s tiny. Would make more money driving buses.

No, Overton and Thompson being backed to stay. Reid and asst superintendent too. They are most distraught at what Frits did, all alone and without telling them at any time so they are shocked at what is coming out now. How could he? So horrible. And after the 400 + investigation and everything. That super duper smart sneaky 1 person! If only he had done his job, but he didn’t and now this. That one single solitary just him that did anything AD.

This is an attempt at sarcasm, right?

Actually and sadly it’s not. Reid had the texts since coach’s meeting. The 6 other coaches understood that if they played, FCPS would pull out Hayfield. Instead, Reid put out message after message backing Hayfield, blaming VHSL and calling for OTHER schools to be looked at and held accountable. The Edison game played on. Reid never wavered from backing Hayfield- despite all she knew. At the same time the School Board wrote letters to fully support Reid. FCPS approved leave of absence with full benefits to AD and went on record to say it is in ordinary course and for family reasons….

Left to their own, the narrative is and will be exactly above- that this was all one rogue AD. Reid won’t take action against Principal (except to promote) or Asst Superintendent and School Board won’t take action against Reid.

Families need to keep writing School Board members who are backing Reid or the 3 (Dunne etc) will lose again as did this past summer.

So while it should be sarcastic, it’s actually current narrative being pushed by Reid and Board majority.

The AD has nothing left to lose. I hope he flips on all these cucks and shares everything he has.

Once he leaves they have his company issued phone so messages can be pulled, if they really want to see

Will have been deleted on his end as no litigation hold as FCPS never part of lawsuits.

Yes she had it and leveled racism charge on other coaches, told them to play, told them Hayfield wouldn’t and turned around and wrote more letters fully backing Hayfield. Totally bought whoever led her down path that Hayfield victim and instead of punishing them, look for other guilty. Gaslight at best.

Originally, Mateo Dunne was the most vocal in asking the board to vote for an external investigation. Two members voted with him: Ricardy Anderson and Ryan McElveen. Everyone else supported Reid.

This was your comeback? Oh god you’re pathetic.

But I’ve won plenty. But I don’t measure myself on my athletics successes back in high school. Only pathetic people do that. Every day of adulthood I’ve won because I’ve got a great job that more than supports my wife and kids and I have a family that looks up to me because, among other things, I taught my kids the difference between right and wrong. Thats something no Hayfraud parent can say.

The point is that Hayfield had the opportunity to play teams of equal talent had they gone through the process, but that doesn’t seem to be something in their wheelhouse, so it’s not surprising a team composed of a number of D1-bound players would slaughter football teams in the National district.

I gotta think this could open FCPS to a lot of legal liability that will make the cost of the outside investigation look like pocket change. Any group or person harmed by this shenanigans probably has a claim to consider pursuing including boosters who lost revenue, student athletes, etc. FCPS better have some deep pockets. Hopefully they free up some money by eliminating some personnel starting with the supe on down to the Hayfield admin team so the taxpayers aren’t in the hook.
