This is a combination of wrong and misleading. One bullet had the inscription "Hey Fascists! Catch!" followed by the up arrow symbol, the right arrow symbol, and three down arrows. You cannot divorce the words from the arrows. The arrows are a key code used Helldivers 2 to arm a large bomb. In the game, the player is a member of a militaristic regime (i.e. fascist government) who is battling aliens that the players call fascists. The phrase is a taunt of an enemy who is about get bombed with a large munition. The game is satirical and the irony in this is that the player is the fascist.

In context, "Hey fascist" does not indicate that Robinson is right-wing. It also does not indicate that he is left-wing. It simply means that he is deeply into Internet meme and gamer cultures.

Thank you for your detailed post. This makes sense.

So, basically, what was written on that casing doesn’t indicate one way or another what his political leanings are.

Curious as to why no one is listening to his father, who made it quite clear that he has swung politically to the left?

No one had to assume what is father is saying is true

So instead there are over 150 pages of speculation that are to be believed? His father knew him better than anyone on this forum. His father's words were backed up by others. It's not rocket science here.

Nope no rocket science:Who know how well his father knew him. Well or not well, either way, the father could be lying, or telling the truth.

Grandma speaks

"I’m just so confused,” Debbie said of her grandson’s arrest. “[Tyler] is the shyest person,” she said. “He has never, ever spoke politics to me at all.”

This is so sad.

He was a mentally ill person who got caught up in the toxic political climate that many of us have been caught up in recently. Sane people who fall into the hate the other "side" trap post stupid stuff online or say things we wish we could take back at Thanksgiving. Manufactured hate can drive mentally ill people to commit murder.

You aren't agreeing with the PP you are making a completely different point. He may or may not be mentally ill. No one in politics told him to kill anyone.

He's a human who shot another human being in cold blood. He's mentally ill. If you disagree with this, you need to crawl back under your rock to stop embarrassing yourself.

I think at least half of our society is now mentally ill to some extent. How about we try to figure out how to help these individuals? We’ve become such a nasty society, people are so mean to one another, more than ever it seems. No wonder everyone is mentally ill, a person can only handle so much in life. We need to support one another. Why are we so damn mean?

Social Media and loneliness. People are getting detached from humanity.

People aren't just getting detached from humanity - they are seeing those with whom they disagree as non-human, unworthy of listening to, unworthy of respect, and in extreme cases unworthy of living.

For those of you who think that Charlie Kirk "lived by the sword, died by the sword" or some other BS like that, I challenge you to live up to what Voltaire allegedly said: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

But you won't.

+1 this was a great read. While we have all been busy pointing the finger at mental health or gun control, these people have been grouping up like a terror cell. It clicked for me with the Georgia school shooting and he was following fan accounts. They are miserable people trying to one up each other.

I don't want to live in a collectivist society

Then without strict gun control, we are all at risk of being murdered by a lonely, deranged, misfit lunatic, all because people like you felt it was okay to shun people from society. There is usually a common theme with these shooters other than being white males, they were not seamlessly fitting into society and rather than trying to to understand these people or even befriend them, modern day Americans shun them, force them to become outcasts, because they’re different than the norm. These people weren’t all born mentally ill, we created these people, modern day American society creates them. We’re pros at intentionally isolating people and then acting shocked when they finally implode.

Ah yes, those poor fragile little white men. It's entirely too much to expect them to adapt to the same circumstances faced by everyone else. Society just isn't bending far enough around to protect their feelings.

Nancy Mace on Wednesday: "It's time to bring back the death penalty."

Nancy Mace today: "We know Charlie Kirk would want us to pray for such an evil, and lost individual like Tyler Robinson to find Jesus Christ. We will try to do the same."

Not mutually exclusive

It's not just her. The tone coming from pretty much every elected Republican official today has changed compared to Wednesday.

^^oh oh and one day, one day, one of your close family members or friends may be one of these mentally ill people. And you will say ‘he always seemed a little weird, he didn’t have many friends’ WHY TF are we not reaching out to these people earlier in life prior to them reaching their boiling points? You wanna know why? Because we take pleasure in watching others suffer, we laugh at them, mock them, and then feign surprise when they finally react. We’re a society of disgusting bullies.

Agreed. What Voltaire allegedly said is how I feel about it. The killing of Charlie Kirk was appalling and not justifiable on any level, no matter what he said. Charlie Kirk also said a few deaths were the price of the freedom to own guns, and he was killed by a gun-nut. It is horrible and sad.

At the press conference, Cox said Robinson had become "more political in recent years."

Robinson mentioned during a dinner conversation with a family member that Kirk would be visiting Utah Valley University, according to Cox. Robinson and the family members discussed why they didn't like Kirk and his viewpoints, and the family member stated Kirk was "full of hate and spreading hate," Cox said.
https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/tyler-robinson-charlie-kirk-suspect-shooter-utah/story?id=125474359

If the suspect was a MAGA, why did he think Kirk was spreading hate?

Perhaps because he was indeed spreading hate?

I have family members who are MAGA. They do indeed have a moral compass and are against the spreading of hate.

From the guardian Suspect's high school classmate says Robinson was the only 'leftist' in a family of 'very hard' Republicans
Anna Betts

In a phone interview on Friday, someone who said they were friends with Robinson in high school, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that the suspect was “pretty left on everything” and was “the only member of his family that was really leftist”.

“The rest of his family was very hard Republican,” the friend said.

Around sophomore year, the friend said, Robinson became more extreme in his political views and would “always just be ranting and arguing about them”.

The friend said that they played video games together a lot in high school and noted that the bullet engraving with the arrows was a reference to Helldivers 2 – which we mentioned earlier. He said that the arrows specifically were in reference to “calling in a big bomb that exists” in the game “called the 500 kilogram”.

When the friend saw the news on Friday, he said that he was shocked. “I knew he [Robinson] had strong political views, but I never thought it would even go near that far.”

The friend said that he has not spoken to Robinson in years and began to drift apart toward the end of high school. Another high school classmate separately told the Guardian that the friend and Robinson were close in school and would play video games.

Oh wow. A former high school classmate that hasn't seen him for years. Case cracked wide open.

So what evidence has the news reported other than this that you have read? Post the link.

Absolutely hilarious that MAGAs are trusting an anonymous source in the Guardian.

Absolutely hilarious democrats aren’t trusting an anonymous source in the Guardian.

They trust every anonymous source otherwise.

Democrats do not trust every anonymous source.

The source--if a liar trying to shape narrative--would indeed go to a left leaning paper to establish credibility

You think someone called the Guardian and said they knew the shooter and the Guardian didn’t make sure the source was legitimate?

All they could make sure of, in this quick turnaround moment, is that the person went to the same high school as the shooter. How on earth could the Guardian make sure that the classmate is still in touch with Tyler, or even was telling the truth about his political leanings? That's not verifiable information.

So why do you trust anonymous sources about Trump?

Bingo. These twits trust and promote any anonymous source who has something negative to say about Trump et al. They are hypocrites of the highest order.

and yet, MAGA's ignore the non-anonymous stories and books by named former Trump officials like chiefs of staff and cabinet secretaries who assert trump is a danger to the country

The 2 concepts are not mutually exclusive.

But they are, and you just proved my point. There is a line and your failure to condemn the act is cowardly.

I condemn the killing.

Also when you get people worked up, it could stand to reason that you become a target.

There.

Anonymous wrote:What we know about Robinson
At the press conference, Cox said Robinson had become "more political in recent years."

Robinson mentioned during a dinner conversation with a family member that Kirk would be visiting Utah Valley University, according to Cox. Robinson and the family members discussed why they didn't like Kirk and his viewpoints, and the family member stated Kirk was "full of hate and spreading hate," Cox said.

And MAGAs constantly take some complete rando or anonymous troll post and dishonestly portray it as "see, the libs are celebrating Kirk's death" and so on, INSISTING this is fact despite the reality that any Democrat who matters strongly condemned the shooting.

There is absolutely nothing in MAGA talking points on this message board being done in good faith.

We’re a bunch of gross, self absorbed bullies in the US. That’s why this is happening. We can’t give others the time of day, it’s all about me, me, me, gluttonous selfish pigs we have become.
