Fire in upper NW?

It seems very strange to me at this stage of the game when we have absolutely no idea what evidence there is so far. The investigation is in the very early days and the public is not privy to much of anything.

wow..Just going by what the charging documents state. Don't read to much into anything.

No one wants anybody connected with this crime to be sprung on this basis. With Darron Wint, prosecutors had telltale DNA evidence placing him at the scene of the crime. Easy indictment. The others were clearly involved after the fact, but it may take time and more thorough analysis of evidence to place them at the scene. If they had a role in torturing and murdering this family, you don't want them convicted simply as accessories; you want them charged as principals. I'm sure that arrests will come in the next couple of weeks, and meanwhile, these folks are being watched like hawks.
Thanks for that information. I realized that I've been thinking of Wint as the ringleader but all we know is that his DNA was on the pizza. He could just be a peon and one of the others could have been the ringleader. Hope everyone gets what they deserve.

Exactly. I doubt Wint will give up anyone else invloved.

I think he will. And those involved know he will as well.

Myabe but he's going to be in jail anyway, why tell on them and be stuck in jail with ex-friends now enemies. Especially if someone else murdered the family like that..I wouldn't want that guy pissed and in jail with me.

I think they will argue it was the possibly the brother's dna and he'll walk? with no proof of either actually committing the crime, no murder weapon, etc. they both will walk. With no proof besides the crust it is going to be a hard case.. Let's hope they have way more proof than the pizza crust.

Why all these claims about Wint saying it's his brother's DNA? They aren't identical twins and, thus, their DNA is different, right? What am I missing?

I think a lot of people on this site watch way too many episodes of Law & Order, CSI, etc. In the real world, people are convicted of crimes all the time based on circumstantial evidence. Here, we have Wint's DNA on the pizza crust (at the least). What kind of juror is going to believe that he went up to the door, took a bite of the pizza, and left it in the box? That is ridiculous. People need to realize that murder convictions happen in this country regularly on less evidence than we already know the police have against Wint.

Maybe but good luck getting 12 people to agree and find a man guilty on pizza crust dna. Anyone could frame anyone this way if it were that easy. Think

There is MUCH more evidence than the pizza. There's the money. There's testimony from others. And thats what we know about. There will almost certainly be more. This investigation is still in its infancy.

Really?? Anyone could frame someone in this situation? Someone got Wint to take a bite out of the pizza then rushed into a burning house and planted the crust? Please, you are ridiculous. OJ Simpson is one thing. This case is very different. I can guarantee you that if Daron Wint had killed Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, he would have been convicted on the same evidence. The only reason OJ wasn't convicted was because he is rich, powerful, popular, well-loved, and had really good, expensive lawyers.

I think non-lawyers should stop speculating on the law/legal system here. It's incredibly unhelpful.

Who cares about OJ? The reason he wasn't convicted is because there was no evidence that the jury could agree to convict him on! What you'e not understanding is that he is innocent until proven guilty! Can anyone prove that the pizza crust wasn't planted there??? The jury will have to ask themselves this and if there is a doubt from even one person.. it's over. I'm sure they have more evidence but this is all we know of currently.

Actually, I can pretty much guarantee you that I understand the law better than you do. And, yes, I know he's innocent until proven guilty. I also understand, unlike you, that the decision to acquit OJ Simpson had absolutely NOTHING to do w/ lack of evidence. And the reason OJ matters is b/c people are speculating about Wint going free. What other high profile murder case did the killer walk? Not Jodie Arias. Not the Menendez brothers. Not the Boston Marathon bomber. Not the Unabomber. Not Timothy McVeigh. Not Scott Peterson. Ok, Casey Anthony went free, but you take my point. Daron Wint will not walk.

The charging documents mean nothing. They simply must state enough evidence to hold him in custody. They don;t even have all the charges. There will be MANY more charges in the indictment. And FAR more evidence if and when this goes to trial. It is way, way premature for anyone to speculate about the ultimate resolution of this case.

And I agree that there are folks here who aren't lawyers making strong assertions about which they know nothing. This case is going to be a lot more complicated than DNA on pizza.

sorry i got carried away

a tiny piece of a very red vehicle. Nothing about the clip says it is a car. Nothing about the clip says it is a Mosler. Could have been some form of toy for the 10 year old son. Could have been some form of lawn equipment, although yes the type of person SS was might make one think he employed a ground crew to manage the lawn and the garden.

Anyone know when Wint was employed by SS @ AIW? or the length of employment?
