Valor has hired coaches for their first teams only and announced at many of their tryouts that they were still looking for coaches. They also posted a help wanted ad for coaches during their tryouts. They also have 2nd-5th teams for many age groups. None of those coaches have been hired or if they have, Valor is keeping their identities a secret. Valor also likes to hire parents to coach their own child's team when they can't find qualified coaches so be on the lookout for that.

In previous years--and at almost every other club--coaches for all or almost all teams are hired *prior to tryouts*. You are buying the coaching more so than anything else so its an important piece of info to have before you commit $3200.

Thank you, it sounds like that's not really worth it given the amount of money that it costs and the fact that they're actively recruiting our child and not the other way around.

Stay away from valor if they haven't necked down on a coach. It’s laughable. They will end up putting together some low level team probably 3rd, 4th and 5th teams …if they could they would have 20 teams all in the last division just to make some coin. Its sad.

2014 age group is generally bad everywhere. I think it's due to last year by covid.

Yup, they suck since competing within the VPSL league against other Pre-ECRL/ECNL teams. They didn't just lose their games, they been getting smashed like 7/8 goals to zero. Also, the second team too is in the bottom of the standings in NCSL. They Pre-ECRL team should have stayed div 1 or 2 in NCSL. Garbage.

Don't call kids garbage.

Blame the coaches and club for not assessing their team and putting them in the correct league and division. If a team can't compete in pre-ecnl, they should be put a few divisions down in NCSL. Don't make families drive all the way to Va Beach to lose 8-0. No one is getting anything out of that.

Its wild to have FIVE teams in an age group and the first team being so uncompetitive. Maybe they just had years of bad coaches and all the talent bailed.

Are individual teams allowed to opt out of that league? Or do they have to play there if their club is ECNLRL?

Agree. They are trying to gaslight people into thinking its normal to just post one coach per age group. Many lower team families probably think that is their child's coach.

If your kids are in their 2nd or 3rd season in and still in a bottom 3rd, 4th and 5th teams, is the club really improving your child?

If your kid enjoys playing multiple days a week, loves tournament weekends at hotels with friends, and the cost isn't a burden then what's the problem?
