Hayfield Football Coach Fired

Who is directly over the principal? I'm curious the chain of command here? Who knew what?

So what if they don’t pay. Send them a bill and turn it over to collections when they don’t. Fair treatment for those who tried to cheat the system in such a brazen fashion. In fact, if students show up tomorrow, they are still cheating.

I think he will stay a million miles from all of these shenanigans, and let the other reporters cover it going forward.

What tuition? What f-ing planet are you living on? Are you high on drugs ?

Section 2206 outlines collecting tuition payments for out of county residents.

OMG. We found the Hayfield parent here.

FCPS gets paid tuition for every student they take out of county. Including TJ kids- their home county pays $12k plus bus fees to send their kids here. It is common knowledge.

And fyi- if you don’t change your residency with the DMV immediately- you are committing tax fraud for your car tax. Which is different in each county. And with FFX- they really hate that. They have a whole website for it.

https://www.fairfaxva.gov/government/commissioner-of-the-revenue/project-discovery

Also- if you didn’t do this within months of moving- they can put a lien on your car. Which from what I know- can be reported to your insurance company. Which raises your rates if you don’t pay up fast.

I really hope these parents sold their old homes, have leasing agreements with actual companies, and aren’t driving back home to Fredericksburg every night from hayfield. Fraud charges are terrible for security clearances and loan applications. Especially if there is a public record - which Fairfax times seems hellbent on reporting on. Having the kids names dragged through the mud is going to end up on the Google searches during college admissions- and any kind financial aid or background check.

This is terribly stupid on so many levels.

You’ve never heard of this? If you don’t live in Fairfax County and want to attend one of their schools, you have to pay the per student cost… if you get permission. I know an FCPS teacher who lives in PWC and she would’ve had to pay like $12k for her child to attend the school she works at. If you aren’t paying taxes to the county you have to pay tuition.
I haven’t, but on- board now. Gatehouse should be generating bills tomorrow, they know who the 31 transfers are. Or maybe, Overton’s organization will pay.

Exactly this.

If the district can't manage a transparent investigation of a football transfer controversy, how can they possibly be trusted to handle something that really matters like boundary review?

Nope, take your great falls boundary nonsense to the boundary thread.

I agree. I am also concerned about bias in the boundary review process, and Reid has shown that she is biased and does what she wants when it suits her agenda.
Honestly, FFx is getting exactly what they voted for. You want progressive, you want woke, well this it. Just don’t F w/football. Ok, the agenda will press everywhere else.

I didn't vote for this. How do we undo this mess? What exactly do we need to do to get reasonable people into admin positions in FCPS (i.e., people who don't want to indoctrinate your kid into thinking they are racist and who don't call people racist who are just standing up for fairness)?

He has to be high, right?

Some people just have really big egos.

So maybe high on hubris?

And that Reid had the nerve to open her statement wanting to address the misinformation surrounding this whole thing. Turns out her statement was exactly that- misinformation, an attempt to fool FCPS residents.

It’s not the whole board.

I, for one, voted for the ones that didn’t endorse Reid.

Her emails, especially that first one, were so offensive.

Now please someone tell me how you can’t see that being the case. He was the ONLY coach mentioned in the text and now it was him that spearheaded the coaches boycotting. It’s something you have to atleast consider.

Bravo to the SoCo coach for taking a stand against the Hayfield nonsense.

This is so condescending

“ We also stand ready to work with the VHSL to improve their policies and processes on student-athlete eligibility. It is vital that we collaborate with everyone involved to ensure we are preparing for the evolution of the student-athlete experience that we are seeing in our country. As we navigate uncharted waters ahead in youth athletics, we must anchor our practices in clear rules and accountability systems that apply to all regardless of circumstances. Access to excellence and opportunity — that is the American dream.”

If that's what you took from these text messages, there is no point in having a discussion with you.

Please, by all means let’s conversate. I’m game.

Conversate is not a real word.

Absolute BS. It should have been given to a HS freshman English teacher to laugh at and grade.
