Amtrak Joe is running in '24.

In your dreams. He'd be way too old.

Magoo is barely hanging on by a thread as it is.

The Dems have a big problem. And if Trump comes back it's all over.

Not really. Trump is just as old and senile but is virulently hated by most of the population.

Correction: Trump is virulently hated by the Democrats, beloved by the Republican voters, and the independents/moderates are very ambivalent about him with a wide range of views and it comes down to who is the lesser of two evils.

There have been a couple of recent polls showing Trump defeating Biden in a hypothetical match up if held today. Much of it has to do with Biden losing his independent vote substantially. And Trump improving on his margins in friendly states. For example, the Des Moines Register poll two days ago showed Trump increasing his lead in Iowa from a healthy win to close to a blowout.

On a personal level I don't want to see Trump running for reelection in 2024 but I'm not so blinded that I can't acknowledge it is a distinct possibility and that he has substantial support. The continuing weaknesses of the Biden Administration and their increasing failure to claim the mandate of competence only makes it easier for the independents to overlook Trump's many flaws and reluctantly vote for him. The good news is that three years is a long way off.

No, he's virulently hated by independents and moderates as well. That's why Youngkin tried to ignore him. He is however loved by Republicans.

Again: this is incorrect. There are plenty of Republicans who would be thrilled if another Republican ran in 2024. I'm one of them.

If Ms. Harris' supporters are going to pull out the race and misogyny cards whenever she's criticized, she will never be elected president.

Y’all need the hood back from the cleaners?

PP here. Your response is absolutely pathetic and unnecessary.

I’d like to think that poster was attempting humor, but I fear there are lot of people who are clueless enough to think a ‘hood’ comment is justified.

I want the Republicans to give us a better candidate. Marco Rubio, Larry Hogan, Mitt Romney, hell I'd take Corey Booker.

Incorrect. He is hated by you. And you are projecting your personal views onto others.

Many people don't have feelings strong enough to hate someone. At most they dislike that person, but dislike alone isn't always a reason not to vote for that person. Biden sold himself in 2020 as the competent response to the chaos of the Trump years and won the moderates as a whole. But he is rapidly losing that argument because it's hard to argue that his administration is competent and isn't coming with its own sets of incompetent behavior and disconnection to the needs of the voters.

This is shown by that McAuliffe in Virginia tried to campaign on Trump - but lost because the moderates and independents don't care about Trump and that indifference is not hatred.

THIS ^^. McAuliffe invoking Trump! at every turn was absurd. Most people just want to move on and look ahead to the future, not dwell in the past.

The Democrats need to focus on generating a better impression with vast swathes of the electorate. That Trump is still an even half way serious force just shows the Democrats are still in denial of their past failures.

Unlike the GOP, the Democrats do not have the entire media in their pocket.

DP. This has got to be satire.

Anyone care to share an example of racist coverage? If anything, the stuff I see treats her with kid gloves.

Shhhhh……didn’t you get the message? Any critique of Harris is motivated solely by racial animus and misogyny. She’s perfect in every possible way and doing a splendid job.

Maybe she can get Meghan Markle on as VP and make it a dream ticket.

She would need to put one of the Dreamers on the ticket to make it a Dream ticket!

Hmm. That looks like a bunch of bad academics (“trope”, “reify”, etc.) talking their book. I’d advise any one who supports Harris to quash this talk.

Hard to take the race and gender out of it when she was picked because of her race and gender. Openly picked for those reasons. Biden said he would pick a woman. Clyburn told him to pick a person of color.
Those appear to be her only qualifications.

What has she ever done well? Except maybe make snarky comments in debates and ask snarky questions in hearings.
