Amtrak Joe is running in '24.

In your dreams. He'd be way too old.

Magoo is barely hanging on by a thread as it is.

The Dems have a big problem. And if Trump comes back it's all over.

Not really. Trump is just as old and senile but is virulently hated by most of the population.

Correction: Trump is virulently hated by the Democrats, beloved by the Republican voters, and the independents/moderates are very ambivalent about him with a wide range of views and it comes down to who is the lesser of two evils.

There have been a couple of recent polls showing Trump defeating Biden in a hypothetical match up if held today. Much of it has to do with Biden losing his independent vote substantially. And Trump improving on his margins in friendly states. For example, the Des Moines Register poll two days ago showed Trump increasing his lead in Iowa from a healthy win to close to a blowout.

On a personal level I don't want to see Trump running for reelection in 2024 but I'm not so blinded that I can't acknowledge it is a distinct possibility and that he has substantial support. The continuing weaknesses of the Biden Administration and their increasing failure to claim the mandate of competence only makes it easier for the independents to overlook Trump's many flaws and reluctantly vote for him. The good news is that three years is a long way off.

No, he's virulently hated by independents and moderates as well. That's why Youngkin tried to ignore him. He is however loved by Republicans.

Incorrect. He is hated by you. And you are projecting your personal views onto others.

Many people don't have feelings strong enough to hate someone. At most they dislike that person, but dislike alone isn't always a reason not to vote for that person. Biden sold himself in 2020 as the competent response to the chaos of the Trump years and won the moderates as a whole. But he is rapidly losing that argument because it's hard to argue that his administration is competent and isn't coming with its own sets of incompetent behavior and disconnection to the needs of the voters.

This is shown by that McAuliffe in Virginia tried to campaign on Trump - but lost because the moderates and independents don't care about Trump and that indifference is not hatred.

Moderate here who leans right. Voted for Biden in 2020 to get away from the chaos of the Trump years. Would not have voted for Harris. When I voted for Biden, I was concerned about his age. Potentially, I'll be even more concerned in 2024.

Keep telling yourself that. Although McAuliffe tried to tie Youngkin to Trump but it didn't work because he's not on the ballot or in power.

Kamala is an incredibly gifted politician that is dealing with racist news coverage and jealously from within the administration she serves.

She will be our first female president and we will be stronger for it.

If Ms. Harris' supporters are going to pull out the race and misogyny cards whenever she's criticized, she will never be elected president.

The Democrats need to focus on generating a better impression with vast swathes of the electorate. That Trump is still an even half way serious force just shows the Democrats are still in denial of their past failures.

Unlike the GOP, the Democrats do not have the entire media in their pocket.

There has been a laughable push on here lately to claim that the MSM is in the grasps of the GOP. Is this your genuinely held belief? Can you point to some examples of what you mean, because I am utterly baffled by the claim.

Also completely baffled. But, I'm not going to hate on it too much because if people think the media is in the tank for the right, journalists will feel more comfortable leaning right in their coverage.

No one uses dry cleaners anymore. Everyone works from home.

What do you mean by "incredibly gifted"? On what front? Her ability to connect to voters, to unite the party, to get legislation through? Show me some receipts.

PP here. Your response is absolutely pathetic and unnecessary.

Remember, she's only VP because Biden's team made a very public pledge to specifically pick a female POC running mate.

She cut the deal with Biden when she dropped out, months before the decision was announced. Don't be so naive.

The fact is, she is doing what Vice Presidents do. It is only the misogyny of our society that is causing conversations like this thread.

There you are! You're so right. We are free to criticize male politicians, but never women! *Especially* not Democratic women. Verboten! Give us all a break. She's an insipid, lightweight politician - regardless of her gender.

I detest the lazy, intellectually dishonest imbeciles that reflexively accuse people of racism and misogyny if they criticize a POC or woman.

Couldn't agree more. I'm a woman and don't feel I somehow am above criticism due to my gender (or race, etc.). Enough of this BS. Notice Democrats had no issue calling out Winsome Sears (a POC woman) - apparently conservative women are fair game.

When it’s part of a coordinated hit…

Ah yes. "The fear of strong black women." Give us all a break.

DP. Well said. Though I would make one correction - Trump is not beloved by many Republican voters. Many would love to see a different Republican run in 2024 - not Trump.
