Another delusional post. Yes, schools like Churchill and Whitman lose kids to Landon and other privates (just like public schools in VA like Langley, TC Williams, etc.) But you think Churchill would be one of the strongest in the country if they didn't lose kids to private schools? LOL.

Landon and other privates are perennially strong because they get great kids, but they get them from all over. The talent pool in Potomac/Bethesda is very good, but even if one public school got all the talent from that area, they would not be able to hang with a school like Ward Melville, etc.

Get a grip.

Idiotic comment. There are times when some public school teams are better than some private school teams. Herndon HS - hardly a public school power - beat STA a few years ago. The IAC is one of the best leagues out there, but not all of their teams are far and away better than some publics in some years.

STA is not a real IAC school. Never has made it out of first round of the tournament in recent memory.

If all the varsity players from Landon, Prep, St Andrews, St Albans, Maret and Zaga went to their home public schools, Churchill and Whitman would be extremely competitive with almost any other public high school in the nation. Heck, even BCC would be able to crack the Top 50.

The public - private debate really needs to stop in this area.

Privates should be able to dominate the publics in this region for obvious reasons.

Landon was beating today Oakton 8-0 in the 2nd quarter.

I believe Oakton won VA States last year at the highest classification level.

No knock against Landon but most would argue it’s probably one of the weaker teams they have had in quite some time.

Someone bragged previously that STA is currently undefeated with a 7-0 record this season. Out of curiosity, who have they played? Tough teams or easy teams? Schools are DeMatha, Bishop O'Connell, Blue Ridge, St. Andrews, Pomfret, Milton, and Hillside.
