How about you save your overdramatic overtures for situations that warrant such a reaction. Nobody wants your flag Jim Bob. |
Good- you're almost there- we have different understanding and views of the confederate flag!!! Keep thinking you're almost there! |
Isn't it wonderful that Nikki Haley is undoing the democrat's racist raising of that flag over the state house? Liberals must be THRILLED! It takes republicans to undo what democrats have done! And didn't a NAACP President (Edgerton) defend flying the rebel flag? And didn't a republican governor try to remove it in the 70s and was thwarted - by democrats? In this sense - Coulter also has a point, in that Haley is getting the history of the flag wrong. She's a first generation American and she nor her family has no long-standing history in this country and perhaps that's why. I see Media Matters covered the Coulter story. Given they've admitted to protecting the Clintons ( http://dailycaller.com/2015/06/22/media-matters-founder-we-defend-hillary-clinton/), can we actually trust them? And didn't Bill Clinton play golf multiple times at a white only country club? And didn't they support the confederate flag when governor and Mrs? So many, many, many 'feels'. So little 'thinks'. |
Then why did the NAACP defend the right to fly the confederate flag? Did Edgerton not understand it either? |
eww no thanks. I can only imagine where those hands have been. A little soap and water wouldn't kill you. |
Jimmy carter visiting the confederados of Brazil- he must have been planning something bad- look at that flag!!!

I'm confused, are you saying that you agree with both Coulter and Haley? How does that work? And, are you suggesting that Haley wouldn't have supported removing the flag if she had deeper family-ties to this country? Finally, the flag has not yet been removed. Before you make this a Democrat-Republican issue, you might want to wait to see with the Republicans in the SC legislature actually do. Given that you are all about "thinks" rather than "feels", I would expect that you could clearly say whether you agree or disagree with Coulter. |
Beautiful picture- |
Well, if you are thinking it through, it's very easy to agree with both. I think Haley should do what she feels is best for the state of SC. And I think Coulter has a point when she made her statement about Haley, who is a first generation American. I have no idea what Haley would do if, say, her family had fought in the civil war. No one does. I can say that Haley seems to be reactive as do other republicans. I'm not a fan of that when it comes to political policy. It invariably screws things up. The Republicans did not raise that flag. Democrats did. That's simply fact. As is that a Republican governor tried to take it down. As did the Clintons support the flag in AK. As did Bill attend a white-only club multiple times. Do we really need to play the tape of Lyndon Johnson using the N word when he speaks about black coming out to vote more than whites? Didn't think so.... |
If jimmy carter- such a gentle Christian- understood the flag maybe some of you can open your eyes and hearts |
Well I don't know about liberals thoughts on the points you took such joy in presenting, but most African Americans - you know the people who have expressed strong opposition to the Confederate Battle Flag for years - yeah, they pretty much couldn't care less who is responsible for taking it down. It's coming down and that's what matters and truth be told it was the tragic deaths of nine upstanding African American citizens that prompted its removal not a particular political party. |

These are called facts, these 'liberal thoughts'. Just because they oppose your point of view, they are to be dismissed? I think not. I'm simply asking you to think, not feel. |
So what? Wasn't right then either. I don't see any libs here defending Carter or Clinton for it. Two wrongs don't make a right. Meanwhile, it's now decades later - and these days it's just you right wingers trying to defend the confederate flag. |
I think, not feel, that as is often the case it took a supreme sacrifice on the part of African Americans in order for the government to take action in the interest of justice and equality. I think, not feel, that much in the same manner that it took African American advocates and heroes and martyrs like Frederick Douglass and Sojorner Truth and Emmitt Till and Medgar Evers and Rosa Parks and Dr King and many others to bring about change in this country, it once again it took a supreme sacrifice by African Americans to spark change. |
