Yes I agree that was real change. People weren't isolating and identifying themselves along racial lines or political ideologies (ahem...), people came together in the humanitarian interest of one another and the shared commonality of being Americans. And, like I said, the fact is it once again took the supreme sacrifice of upstanding African Americans to spark that change.

Really, you need to drop your attacks on "liberals" because you are just making yourself look foolish. Republicans are removing flags and statues that liberals didn't even know about. If you value unity, why are you doing your best to destroy this time of unity? Liberals and Conservatives are standing together in solidarity and all you want to do is attack. And didn't Bill Clinton play golf multiple times at a white only country club? And didn't they support the confederate flag when governor and Mrs?

So many, many, many 'feels'. So little 'thinks'.

Well I don't know about liberals thoughts on the points you took such joy in presenting, but most African Americans - you know the people who have expressed strong opposition to the Confederate Battle Flag for years - yeah, they pretty much couldn't care less who is responsible for taking it down. It's coming down and that's what matters and truth be told it was the tragic deaths of nine upstanding African American citizens that prompted its removal not a particular political party.

These are called facts, these 'liberal thoughts'. Just because they oppose your point of view, they are to be dismissed? I think not. I'm simply asking you to think, not feel.

I think, not feel, that as is often the case it took a supreme sacrifice on the part of African Americans in order for the government to take action in the interest of justice and equality. I think, not feel, that much in the same manner that it took African American advocates and heroes and martyrs like Frederick Douglass and Sojorner Truth and Emmitt Till and Medgar Evers and Rosa Parks and Dr King and many others to bring about change in this country, it once again it took a supreme sacrifice by African Americans to spark change.

What change? Removing a flag?

Change is what you saw in SC, when there was a huge outcry about the murders and huge support for the families and the church. Actually, I take that back. That was NOT change. That was Americans being Americans. That was the real America that liberals don't want to believe exists. And when they didn't get their 'cause', they created one.

Sick.

Americans being Americans, and reacting nobly to tragedy, is not sick. But people are reexamining symbolism, which is change.

Liberals creating a cause when they don't see the discord they expected (i.e. white conservatives dancing in the streets about the murders, etc) is what's sick.

You can change all the symbols you want. It won't stop other Dylann Roofs out there.

I don't recall anyone trying to fly a confederate flag over that church, or next to it.
