So how many dcum posters’ kids are even on Harvard’s WL??? lol |
| Michigan, any news?? |
The deadline to enroll from the May 12 wave got delayed due to a financial aid package delay. Deposits are due today, so maybe more decisions will be released next week. |
| One counselor is saying this year's movement will be like 2020. |
Clarification, deposits are due tomorrow, May 30. |
Who? |
Someone called today and Harvard said no wave today: https://talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/harvard-waitlist-thread-2029/3689440/140?page=4 |
ummm. A LOT. |
Seems like every college will be different. Even trying to compare last year to 2020, there is no one size fits all trend. Example, Tufts accepted 222 off the waitlist in 2020, and last year 354, a 35% acceptance rate off the waitlist last year. Yet, almost none this year, at least not enough that there would be forum posts about it. |
Can you explain what that means? Was there a lot of later movement in 2020? |
Yes bc so much uncertainty (e.g., gap years - bc kids didn't want to pay full tuition for a remote 1st year experience). So many people got off T20 WL (and more) all the way through late August. |
| Michigan is it done? They usually take around 1,000 students off of the waitlist. I heard that SMU had some and Chapman University. |
Michigan is not done. They had a delay in the financial aid office, so that the first wave has an enrollment deadline of May 30. From reddit, OOS seem not necessarily thrilled with their packages. |
They will probably wait until there is more clarity on the international student visas. |
Michigan responses were due last week but extended until tomorrow for those requesting aid. Offers came out last night. We got zero aid and are passing. |
