This!!! We have gotten lax on exemption allowances - the GOP is leaning into this, and we have RFK Jr touting vaccination as a "personal choice." Particularly with measles which is incredibly contagious, airborne, lingers in the air hours after an infected person leaves, this means kids too young to be vaccinated become increasingly at risk. |
Unvaccinated adult dies in New Mexico.
We will see a lot more of this, particularly in red "anti vaxxer" areas. |
The more children who die from 100% preventable diseases means the fewer future MAGAS. It's a win-win. |
Do you want measles to be out of control when your future grandkids are in utero and newborn? But, PP's point is that if you want to understand why people still die from measles, you should ask a trusted doctor. In short though, you and your friends didn't die or become hospitalized or suffer long term disabilities from it (as far as you know), but others did. And the same will be true today. No matter how far after-the-fact medical treatment comes, people still die and become disabled from medical causes (obviously). When that cause is preventable, we should prevent it. The more contagious (will infect many) and/or the more deadly (will be devastating to any even if only a few get it) something is, the more focus we should place on prevention. |
Even when it's not deadly, a huge measles outbreak can and has quickly overwhelm hospitals, esp smaller ones in rural areas. This can be catastrophic |
Because you asked a medical question are having trouble understanding the answer. From a recent article: Measles typically kills one to three people per 1,000 cases, said Dr. Tina Tan, an infectious disease expert at Northwestern University in Chicago. She said two deaths out of a total of 164 cases suggest "a much higher mortality rate than we would normally see," adding that there are probably many undetected cases. ---- Do you think its smart to kill 0.3% of the population from one disease, and on an on for every other disease? "Modern medicine" is vaccines. Viruses are hard to kill. |
“Modern medicine” can’t cure everything. Even today, kids die of RSV, flu, strep, sepsis, and other causes. Once the cascade starts it’s hard to stop. We can cut your head open when measles swells your brain and flood you with steroids and antivirals, but I think we’d all agree it’s better to avoid brain swelling in the first place.
And the people talking about Whole Foods curing measles - what exactly do you think people were eating prior to the 1960s when they were dying and being blinded and maimed by measles? From scratch home cooking, that’s what. Meat, potato, veg, almost all what we would call organic and non GMO today. |
Poor kid, killed by their MAGA idiot parents. |
It’s hard to believe it’s only been 6 weeks. Easy to destroy. |
Agreed that we will see more of this reporting. |
There were 285 measles cases in 2024 in 33 states. Do you recall how the mainstream media reported on this? |
Lifetime immunity from a the measles virus wanes over time making up to 6% of that population vulnerable. Among vaccinated individuals, about 20% do not retain immunity. It appears that due to vaccine overuse, the measles may have mutated to a different virus and more of us vaccinated will be vulnerable. That along with our toxic food, water and air will lead to more epidemics. |
285 cases in 2024 (52 weeks) 222 cases in 2025 (9 weeks) See something here? |
This part is conspiracy. The thinking is it is more prevalent than is known of - there are always more cases than identified with a test in a clinic or hospital. Not that measles is suddenly more severe or mutated. |
How many deaths? Texas and New Mexico are already over 200. Don’t worry. Good chance Trump can get higher numbers than Biden. |
