Nanny theory seems the most solid because it's very common for entertainers to have affairs with their kids' nannies. If I had to bet money, that would be my top pick.

The theory that it's a young friend of one of his daughters is pretty gross, and not many super young women want to have a baby with an old guy who groomed them. I would not put any money on this.

No. I just don’t buy this. I think most women marry these rockstars - or stars in general - believe they are the one. That their husband will be faithful - they aren’t like the groupies and girlfriends, they are special and there are vows and commitments. And no doubt that exactly what Grohl told Jordyn.

Well, it was well known that he cheated for years, both before and after he married her. This did not come out of the blue.

It is suspected that Dave dumped Melissa Auf der Maur (the bassist for Hole) to be with his current wife, Jordyn Blum. This is one of the reasons why Courtney Love hates Grohl so much. Auf der Maur was living with Grohl in NYC and had to move out of his place.

1994 - marries Jennifer Youngblood
1997 - cheats on his wife with Louise Post (singer of Veruca Salt), Youngblood files for divorce
1998 - cheats on Louise Post with Winona Ryder (Post claims Grohl broke up with her over the phone)
1999 - starts dating Melissa Auf der Maur
2001 - cheats on Auf der Maur to be with Jordyn Blum
2003 - marries Blum
2004 - 2024: lots of cheating rumors
2024: Grohl admits to fathering a daughter outside his marriage

Why is it worse to be with someone closer to your age?

I understand the added element of betrayal if it’s a family friend, but if woman is closer to his age, then you at least don’t have that creep factor of him having a kid with a 25 year old.

Of course, chances are she’s 35 or younger, just judging by the fact that she gave birth.

Don’t be so sure. Many mere mortals have kids after age 35.

Murdock is not sane. Dave shouldn't have any more kids until he fixes the relationship with his current daughters. Having more kids when the relationship is fractured is a death sentence for it

One has nothing to do with the other but this isn't an easy fix. He wasn't around much of their childhood as he was touring, etc.

The young friend thing was fully debunked. So let’s stop with that one.

Nanny is possible, but I’m skeptical. Here’s why. If the kid was born someone in the last few weeks, then she was conceived in early December. They were in Australia then on tour. I find it unlikely the nanny would be on tour with them, given the ages of his kids.

Maybe someone on the tour crew? It’s possible it’s someone in Australia, but if the blind is to be believed, he’s seen the kid multiple times since the birth, which seems tough to do if said kid is in Australia.

So my prevailing theory is it’s someone on the tour crew.

Idk if it's worse or not, I'm on the fence. On the one hand, yes there isn't a creep factor. On the other hand, an age appropriate peer sort of suggests there's more "there" there. I think some people could sort of overlook a one night stand with a groupie as a dumb indiscretion of a midlife crisis guy tempted by a hot young thing, but a 45 year old sounds like a real affair.

Yeah I can see that. There’s upsides and downsides to each.

Random groupie is insanely stupid, but might be dismissable as a midlife crisis.

Woman is more of a peer is less creepy, but suggests there might be real feelings, which honestly probably means the marriage is less able to survive.

Either one is horrible.

Why is that our standard for a healthy relationship? I’m glad my husband got one but I would never in a million years DEMAND it. And we have a very equal relationship.
