No, for 3 years we’ve had to watch Biden repeatedly fall on tv and wander away from the Italian PM and be led around by his wife while democrats hollered he was a mentally sharp and physically powerful leader at the top of his game.

I've heard people talk about Palin torpedoing the McCain run. And maybe there's truth to that? But the way I remember it, McCain was struggling and Palin gave him a shot of energy. That energy dissipated pretty quickly when it became clear how vapid she was. But I don't think his campaign was much worse off at the end than it had been before.

(A lot of that wasn't McCain though. He was facing enormous headwinds. Obama was a fantastic candidate. The economy was tanking because of financial shenanigans that seemed most aligned with Republicans. Bush and Iraq were very unpopular.)

Political comment: his party would happily make being openly gay a crime. I find the possible hypocrisy repellent. There’s nothing shameful about not being straight.

I have a feeling that if this was a habit of his a deluge of pictures is going to come trickling out. And for the guy who the GOP is essentially using as their presidential nominee, Donald Trump’s brain and stamina long since gone off the boil, that’s going to be a rough time.
