Any word on who will be coaching the team next year? |
It seems they often move up the coach of the second team to the top team, then the coach of teh third team to the second team, and then scrounge up some barely qualified person for the vacant third team position. |
Yikes. |
You're definitely a Valor parent. Let's be honest, the coach is ok and lucked out with a pretty good group of players and can compete. But look at the facts, he was a coach at CYA years and never did anything notable there. These girls won a lot of games 9v9 and is doing fine 11v11, but put it into perspective. |
What's the perspective? Because if that's all you're aware about him, you clearly don't really know him. |
Trashing Valor and CYA seem to be full force on this and other threads. Hmmmm |
Coach is all about development. Often loses players he spent years developing and does it with a smile. He coached the 10s as well which went on to higher level teams. He is a class act and in coaching for the right reasons, player development, which gets lost in the soccer scene in this area. |
My view on him as well, he's coached at a number of clubs around but in the last few has been at CYA and Valor. He's coached a great group for the past few years in the 2011 girls currently and the 2010's before a bunch left for FCV. |
I'm really not a Valor parent. I just have a 2011G so I know a little about their 2011 girls RL team. |
absolutely incorrect. Core of girls were SYA legacy. |
+1 |
No clue about CYA but as a valor parent with a pulse I can tell you the club is doing these kids no favors. This is just a money grab and it is obvious when you play for them. |
I know someone from Herndon's Travel program that said last spring during tryouts they had about 200 Valor kids try out for Herndon. That says alot. |
My kids play bryc rec and we had a player leave for Valor from my son's rec team, play for a year, and then come back to rec this fall. He was an average player in the SFL league (did not start). He didn't get any better, in that whole year of practicing with Valor. We thought he would have improved a lot. It was surprising that he stayed the same as rec kids who were barely playing. |
To be fair, its a huge program. IF valor has 50 teams x 12? on average players a team, then a third of Valor kids shopping around every season is high, but not insanely so. |
