Rec leagues have expenses. Equipment given to the coaches (at our club anyway- Pennies, a bunch of balls, that sort of thing), field paint, nets, flags, field mowing, referees (maybe the biggest cost?), admin things like the staff and website and phone lines, and whatever little office they may have, storage units for equipment in the off-season, goals, education opportunities for coaches that they don’t (and shouldn’t) pay for, county and state player fees, coaches background checks, the annual insurance and tax filings, and I am sure there is more I am not thinking of now. Before you jump at admin salaries they’re extremely low- rec club admins don’t begin to approach 6 figure salaries. Most of the other people are volunteers including coaches but also coordinators.

this is all true.

what's also true is that clubs make significant profit from their rec programs because fees are largely driven by market comparables, not by expenses and a desire to keep costs low to families.

Looking at Valor for my 2011 DD (rising U14). Pros/cons? Anyone familiar with that team?

my recollection is the girls were one the best in valor. But coach is leaving and taking a good portion of girls with him

Not a Valor parent, but their top team is in first place in the VA North ECNL-RL, but I have heard that the coach and several top players are going to SYC for next year.

I have a 2011 boy, but I have heard all the good 2011 girls are going to SYC with the coach.

They were strong before the additions. The additions may have helped though certainly. Are there any strong teams left for Valor in 24/25?
