What's going on with FCV GA?

Remember that the players have to be good enough to get to that position in the first place. I appreciate them both for not leaving FCV in the dust and helping to find what seems like great replacements to keep FCV rolling. I hope the girl's and families will stay. Everyone is scared of what's going to happen in the Fall, rightfully so. I will stay and keep my children there in the GA. If we stumble in the beginning we will try to see through and push forward. If we hate it after trying our hardest, we will quit and go to a new club.

Let's first see where are FCV's new fields. That will determine a lot if we stay or not.

If this really is a rebuild, might they rebuild the program around the St. James facility to get away from the field issues in Loudoun?

The indoor fields are too valuable to STJ to waste on FCV practices and games

Should have built two fields.

If they had two, they would rent out the second set too

They'll probably only disclose that after you sign up for Fall and then tell you it's Bles Park and TSJ in Springfield.

If players don’t leave, the program would be fine. Colleges may have started coming because of BP and CC, but they kept coming because of the talent, and they’ll keep coming after BP and CC leave if the talent is still there. If BP cares about the program he built, he’d commit to not taking any current FCV players to VDA, and he’d encourage the best FCV players to stay. If.

Let's enjoy this last Champions league experience to get our girls the exposure they deserve. But I think it's safe to say that FCV in the Champions league going forward for the HS ages is not realistic. Let's be honest, College programs that came to watch and recruit were drawn not by anyone sitting in the TSJ ivory tower, but by the respect they had for CC and BP.

Have they announced the new coaches yet?

New girls director is currently coaching at Seattle United ECNL. Have not named the other coach yet.

Are other coaches beyond CC and BP leaving too?

They were the only 2 GA coaches. A third GA coach left last summer and was never replaced

The program will be fine because there are more girls in Northern Virginia capable of playing GA/ECNL than there are roster spots.

How many players can he take to VDA? Maybe there are 1-5 players, but I doubt the whole team. So you will still have the leftover to form a team

Agreed! but the team may be weaker than before.

Sure, but it's way more complicated than that. You just had a wholesale turnover of coaches. And not just any coaches, but coaches than can be given the lion's share of the credit for building that program into what it is today. On top of that, currently FCV GA only exists in Loudoun and you have absolutely no practice fields beyond the Spring season -- in Loudoun.

So, sure the program may survive, but they'll be in rebuilding mode and if you're a top FCV GA player still to working to get recruited, this uncertainty isn't doing you any favors.

if by capable, you mean have the money, then yes. Plenty of folks in this area are more than capable. If you're talking high enough level soccer? Then no. This area is already saturated enough with midling teams.

FCV was already taking on water. NVA was effecting the younger teams 09-12 not strong at FCV. Leadership got out while getting was good

People say this but it is not even close to true. There is enough talent in this area on the #2 teams right now to build 2-3 ECNL/GA teams.
