Rosemary's Bistro Blocking Connecticut Avenue

Even in beautiful weather, who would want to eat in a streeter-potty?

I really like the restaurant and always eat inside anyway. But does anyone really bypass a neighborhood restaurant they like just because they can't eat in traffic? There is normal sidewalk outdoor seating there too, after all.

The restaurant that was there before, and was far superior, seemed to do fine for many years. Rosemary’s took over the original space and included some outdoor space, street dining came later during COVID. I see no Eason why any business owner would voluntarily give up free space wether they needed it or not. I don’t believe they need it at all.

If you stop pissing in it, it would stop being a potty.

Why is this horrible empty eyesore of a shelter still standing on Conn Ave? It blocks left turning traffic out of the nearby lot, it blocks local street signs, its NEVER inhabited, its ugly, it violates the city's own rules for being in a traffic lane, and it signals to the entire community that the owner is not the least bit civic minded. It never should have gotten extended and the owner should have graciously taken it down. Its been empty for months while the rest of the community sits in unnecessary traffic.

This. Maybe we should all start reaching out to Bowser and Frumin about it? With more and more RTO, time for it to go.

Agree!!

Why, what an interesting idea! Actually doing something about it rather than just talking about it.

Let Trump know. He wants to make DC great again.

Agree. It's time to finally take it down.

This is 100% on Bowser, DOL (licensing) and DDOT. Frumin literally has nothing to do with it.

That shanty is still up?

Ah yes, nearly forgot about this streetery, the second most important issue of our times, or at lead to the restaurant’s angry neighbors

If you don’t care about it, move along and go take action on other matters. For those who travel through this block regularly, it’s a huge nuisance and eyesore. I can’t stop Trump from his tyranny right now, but maybe I can help make our neighborhood easier to navigate and more pleasant.

I like the streetery.

The new streatery guidelines went into effect yesterday, and based on my reading, the one at Rosemary's Bistro does not comply, as streateries no longer can be placed in a parking lane with rush-hour restrictions, as is the case with Connecticut Avenue in that location.
