| Tell him to move it to beach drive |
Haha, the bitterness from entitled car drivers is so sweet. |
| All of those “Streeteries” need to go. Most sit empty 24 x 7. |
Certainly, the ones on the Avenue should go. |
This is the only one on Connecticut Avenue, which makes it especially bizarre. How did they get permission and who gave it to them? Can any business get approved for an extension into the street? What are the criteria for approval? |
| Live in the neighborhood, never eat there, love that they still have a streetery, wish there were more. |
Do you support any/every business being able to expand into the street if they want to? |
I am Eddie Cano had one up until a few weeks ago as well. A few posts up linked to the forest hills connection regarding this. |
The one at Eddie Cano has been gone for months, not weeks. Probably at least six months. The other one will be gone whenever they start tearing up the street. |
Which won’t happen for a few years. In the meantime, why does it get to remain? And can other businesses do the same? |
| We can't just allow restaurants to freely privatize public space. I love outdoor dining, but there should be a permit process with public comment and restaurants should be required to maintain the space according to certain standards. I agree that this particular space does impede traffic flow on an entire block. |
What? No it hasn't. They just took it down and turned it back into like a single parking space or two about a month ago. |
This pic was posted in June 2023 and still shows the concrete barriers up for I'm Eddie Cano going all the way to the Exxon driveway |
| In any case, the backups during a.m. rush hour created by the streatery are getting bad as more people head back into the office, and they're only going to get worse. Terrible Traffic Tuesday in a couple days could be a horror show. |
DC wants 2 contradictory things. It wants people to return to the office, and it wants to reduce the use of cars. Both are not really possible. |
