BLC has mocked MCE for years for loosing in top brackets, it happens, just ironic they lost 4 games when they all think they are going Capital. I am sure they will say they were missing players.

Folks, one again I have to ask that you stop naming people. That includes using initials. Please talk about the sport, not the politics and personalties.

Interesting description of BLC at LLL on BOC:

BLC. We are not sure what we saw. Watched 2 games. Looks like a lot of talent. Especially at attack. Goalie was strong. But she was under fire constantly. We knew this would be a tough weekend. But did not see 0-4. Something is clearly missing there. Not a lot of enthusiasm. Their season usually ends sooner than other clubs. Maybe they can find a spark next weekend. But it looks like they are paired with Aces and M&D. Could be a tough draw.

First let's make sure we are working with facts here MCE does not play anywhere near the top brackets. In fact, the majority of the MCE teams are losing to bottom feeders in mediocre brackets on the regular. The BLC 27 team did lose 4 games this weekend but they lost those to the #1 (7-4), #4 (6-5), #7 (4-3), & #16 (5-7) teams while being ranked 9th themselves. MCE highest ranked team is 58 the 29s and then they have two teams both at 88 all the others are ranked 161 or higher.

First, can't believe this thread is still going. Stay, leave, make a call, and move on. The consternation and churn around MCE must be exhausting.

Second, at least we are talking about BLC and recent tourneys now, so I will jump in. Pride parent has it right. BLC lost to the #1 team by 3, number 4 team by 1, and the #7 team by 1. This tournament won't even negatively impact their rankings. And yes, a number of their players will do fine at Capital.

Not a BLC parent, but I would rather have my daughter's team take their lumps in the top bracket, than win over lesser competition a ways down the chart...

I am a BLC parent and thank you for this post. The girls were excited to play Hero's Green, Yellow Jackets, Jesters, and FLG this weekend, but obviously disappointed with the outcomes. Tough losses for sure and they took it hard.

MCE hasn't been in any top brackets in a very long time...so I'm guessing the current BLC parents weren't the ones mocking.

No longer a BLC parent but those girls should be very proud of themselves given that they played the top teams in the country.

Let's all try to remember we're talking about a bunch of children playing a game, so many posts on this thread are amazingly mean and aimed at kids.

Yes, they are kids so what I would like from the MCE parents defending the behavior of the coaches is to go sit on the sideline at the 27's field next week and make sure when that lady starts cursing at the girls on the sideline telling them they are worthless you make sure you let her know that is unnaceptable.

Not true. 24s were in A brackets all last summer, and throughout their trajectory in MS, as well LLL this past weekend. I am the 25M parent poster from earlier and I have watched all of this since MS and that is why we sticked around. Certain tournaments they played in “perceived” lower bracket to play new teams who have quality players. It worked out for the girls who wanted to be recruited. They may have lost a ton but they have played againt the best players in the country and it helped them prepare for HS, where they are not too shabby. That is development, fingers crossed for my DD.

No dog in the fight but have had a kid in club for a long time and seen the harm in mis-bracketing high as well as low.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid they are not playing in "perceived" lower brackets they are actually lower brackets. They are not playing down so they can play new teams they are there because of where they are ranked that is how they put these brackets together.

You have to look at each team individually. The 27 MCE team is no where to be found. Sounds like the 24’s were good. BLC is similar. Very good 27 team but the other years are lower tier. Stars and Pride are the most consistent but even they have years when they are not as strong.

I would agree with this. To add to the Stars and Pride comment. All of the Pride middle school teams are solid, but once the girls get into high school, they all leave for better teams, mainly Capital, but others as well. Stars had some good teams too - 26’s for example. They, like Pride girls, often leave the program after middle school. Stars 27’s and below aren’t as good as the Pride teams though.

This is very true. Stars and Pride have had more success over the years when looking at older teams. I think the conversation went sideways when a parent brought up BLC 2027's 0-4 weekend in a negative way. What that parent didn't communicate was that between those four teams....Hero's, YJ, Jesters, and FLG....there's probably 70+ future D1 players collectively. They were extremely high level games. BLC's 2027 roster will have a majority play D1 as well.
