5-11 Vaccine appointments thread

CVS just opened some new appointments- they seem to release new ones around 5am every day.

Confirmed, we got an appointement in a CVS in MoCo however not before Nov 20th.

THank you to a pp for the TYsons tip.

I had an appt for my kids today at a pediatric clinic in Wheaton, but when I got there was told they didn't have the vaccine yet. (But the website shows they do and allowed appts for kids 5-11. INFURIATING!!!) And of course all of the county clinics are booked solid and nothing is available through other providers for ten days or so.

But I booked appts for next weekend at Tyson's, so thx for the tip!! (And I'll keep looking for something closer and sooner.)

Walgreens opened up today about 7 am, got my kid appointment in 2 weeks at the Bethesda Walgreens

Why don’t you get it where you live? Don’t mean to be snarky. Unless you’re long term visiting to MD. But if you live in DC or VA, they should have very similar opportunities to MD.

Got it at Hillcrest Rec Center in DC today - about a 30 min wait!

We were told at Tysons that it was for Virginia residents only.

Well at the Alexandria clinic at NOVA on Thursday it was nothing but Arlington residents and it was clear people were bringing other people’s kids in addition to their own. Was hard to get really upset about because everyone has been waiting SO long to get the shots for under 12 but they weren’t even trying to be discrete (including several kids from an Arlington bball team, wearing their jerseys so they were either coming from or going to practice. I’m talking one adult with 6 kids, another with 8 and another with 5. Gotta love that hustle. This was the clinic that was added very last minute and you did have to have an appointment.

What possible side hustle could this be other than someone taking kids of parents who were working or didn’t have cars? You think someone rounded up kids for $10/kid for shots?? And if that person did, can we give them a giant thank you for helping their community.

Anyone have trouble booking their second shot via the link VA DOH sent? I booked a second shot as a regular appointment but maybe that’s not how it works

I got the link to book, but when I put in my kid's name and click verify it just tells me that no appointments are available. I figure I'll try again in a day or two. At the clinic today, they told me I wouldn't get the link for a few days so I wonder if the system is buggy.

The Arlington County clinic scheduled through VAMS was not just for residents. The phone message said explicitly and we gave our DC address without question. We were in and out in 20 minutes (including the 15 minute wait after) with no line. Was a great experience!
