DA vs ECNL vs everything else

At U17, McLean then BRYC will be the top two teams (b/c FCV moved their top 02s to the 00/01 team, and Spirit lost their best 02s).

At U16, BRYC will probably be the best but I'm waiting to see the final rosters for that age group.

As others have said, it's at the younger age groups that we'll start to see the transition of talent from ECNL to DA.

I can confirm that one of the best Spirit players has moved to FCV. Not the gk talked about earlier.

Thank you for sharing. That's very interesting. A lot of player movement in the older teams this year.

I can confirm that nobody cares. The people actually on the teams know this already and nobody else not on the teams is particularly interested.

I can confirm that you are rude and that you should only speak for youself instead of trying to represent everyone else.

You are right, I should only speak for myself, point taken.

By the way taking your advice I was wondering who in your "announcement", are you speaking for? Spirit, FCV or the family?

I can confirm (only because I think it’s true) that a top player moving from the Spirit to any other DA has decided she is not serious about pro soccer being in her future. Nothing wrong with that. Long shot or not, giving up the chance to train even once with Mallory Pugh and Andi Sullivan means there’s no chance. It’s about goals.

This is so not realistic. Right now, FCV. has the better players (including two NT players in that age group) and you get better by going up against the best players every day, not practicing with the pros maybe twice a year.

And my DD plays at Spirit.

I can confirm that the girl leaving the Spirit won't be getting okie-doked into paying for a mandatory Spirit season ticket.

Don't know the particular girls in question, but I do know girls (currently playing in college) who moved teams in the past post-commitment. Two years ago, the reason was commute. Once you have the college spot/maybe scholarship in hand, you can play for another high-level team. Now, I bet high school soccer factors into it more too. If you are playing DA, you commit early your junior year under the new NCAA rules, and you live in VA, you can move to an ECNL team that's closer to home to keep up your training level, AND play two spring seasons for your high school team before going to college. If you stay in DA, no high school. Location plus high school could easily explain Spirit DA players moving to BRYC ECNL.

I have to admit: for the serious player, I will never ever understand this high school ball obsession. It's such low quality soccer.

Maybe it has to do with wanting to play with your friends, and rep your school.
But if you have no friends, it would be hard to understand that.

I can confirm that the girl going to FCV will not get season tickets but will get to buy 3 different colored practice jerseys instead.

1. I am the poster who called you rude, but I am NOT the OP.
2. I speak for no one. But I do like hearing about player movement, because then sometimes I learn interesting reasons, like maybe coaching is the one that I find the most interesting. Sometimes people just want a "winning" team, which I find less important. Sometimes, players just club hop. That I could care less.

Right, a social experience. Everyone agrees with that - that high school soccer is all about the social life.

As for friends, however do these children who don't play sports make friends I wonder, if the only avenue is high school sports? Hmmmmm

Attend training sessions or with a high level men's amateur soccer team consisting of former college players. Or just when they get together and play. That is equivalent or higher to the level of the Spirit professionals.

Wow, you are obviously a misogynist pig. I find your comment insulting to women. Get a life.

Not the PP but he (she?) is right. You do know the US WNT lost to a U15 boys academy team?

I find it less to do with men vs women as I do how girls/womens soccer is coached. Girls are taught to practically always, always 1 touch pass, ever dribble, never try things. At my DD's practices, every single last drill has a touch limit. It's nauseating. She gets told specifically not to dribble, and the entire club has is run that way.

Because we are not nurturing great soccer, we are not getting it. The US just wants athletic, fast girls, not ballers. I literally laugh when people tell me that the NWSL is the nest league on earth. Says WHO? European women's football is so much better.

I don't disagree, but how do we find such opportunities?
