Harris visits spice shop known for hating and slamming Republicans, calls for end of 'divisiveness'

Do you know anything about Penzey's? They are the opposite of divisiveness. It's the ONLY place we buy our spices.

WAUWATOSA, Wis. - Wauwatosa-based Penzeys Spices, a national company, is calling Republicans "racists."

In a Friday, Jan. 14 morning email blast from the company to customers, the subject line read: "Republicans Are Racists Weekend."

In the email, CEO Bill Penzey addresses Republicans: "If you are a Republican voter you are now cheesed off. You were promised that there would never be any accountability for your support of the party of open ‘textbook’ racism. Sorry, but for the betterment of all Americans, you included, we’ve decided to end that rule. And I really don’t care what your race is or how many of your friends ‘happen to be’ whatever. None of that excuses you."

The company also posted the message to its Facebook page, which gained support and criticism. "I just threw out my ‘Be Kind Penzeys’ magnet. What a hypocritical company," responded one person.

In 2014, Penzey wrote that residents of Waukesha County had "fled west" to escape diversity in Milwaukee. In 2016, he accused supporters of Donald Trump of committing "racism" by voting for Trump.

In a Facebook post in 2016 titled "Cooking trumps racism," Penzey wrote of Republicans: "You really are a good bunch, but you just committed the biggest act of racism in American history since Wallace stood in the schoolhouse doorway 53 years ago. Make this right. Take ownership for what you have done and begin the pathway forward."

"He doesn`t know me. He doesn`t know anybody that I know that had purchased from him," Robin Moore, a Waukesha County Republican, said at the time, "but we're racist because we chose to vote for a person that in this country, we have every right to do?"

Penzeys Spices spent nearly $100,000 on Facebook ads in 2019 calling for then-President Trump's impeachment.

How is this not divisive?

It definitely makes me want to buy more Penzeys spices.

Because the owner insults republicans and is extremely divisive.

But you commented that Penzeys is the opposite of divisive? What you really meant is that Penzeys is 10/10 divisive and you agree with their stance.

You are confusing me with another poster. I understand why most retail companies avoid politics but this election is different and I appreciate Penzeys taking a stand against trump. Trump is not even a real Republican. He is anti American. That is not Republican.

Trump is anti-American and actually Hitler. Bush was Hitler until he hugged Michelle Obama. Then he transformed into a good person. Trump is the new republican Hitler who represents the anti-American republicans; which is every single republican. Only democrats love America. Democrats are patriots who always do the right thing.

Penzeys is the non- divisive spice company, they support democrats and post incessantly about evil republicans. Thank G-d. America does not need a two party political system. We only need democrats because only democrats support and cherish democracy.

If you cannot draw the parallels between trump's rhetoric and agenda and Germany of the 1930's, then that is a you problem. Read some history texts.

Bush and Trump are Hitlers and republicans are all Nazis.

America should have only one political party: the Democratic party. America would be a great place if we only had democrats in charge of our government, local, state, and federal.

I've seen you post this over and over in multiple threads. Are you okay?

Harris 47%
Trump 48%

Seems like post convention bump is gone and she is losing support. Maybe do an interview or press conference so people actually get to see her and ask her questions.

Hard core Dems will vote for her no matter what. It’s the Independents she is bleeding.

Maybe.

If the NYT poll questions are like their reporting is these days, the poll may not capture reality among independents.

I’m an independent. I was very pleased when Biden dropped out and was impressed (and surprised) by Harris in the first weeks.

Here is the nuance: I’m less excited right now because she doesn’t pleasantly surprise me. She’s a solid candidate and will be a smart, tough commander in chief. She has my vote but I’m not breathlessly following her. I don’t want to breathlessly follow any candidate or president. I want them to do the job efficiently and effectively without drama.

Trump is old and crazy. Actually demented. And boring. I want him to proceed to the 19th hole now. I would have been more interested in the GOP had Haley been the nominee.

“She’s a solid candidate and will be a smart, tough commander in chief. “

What about the past 3 years makes you think she will a smart tough commander in chief?

Her warning to Putin not to invade Ukraine was useless. She did not sieve the root cause cause's of the immigration issue. Up until may, there was discussion about dropping her off the Biden ticket as she was so unpopular and had a worse approval rating than Biden?

I do t understand not that people think she is amazing after that. And all the problems she is promising to fix after the election, how about staring now!!! She is basically in right now and these issue have been going on under her administration with Biden?

Bernie Sanders has revealed that Harris is lying about her positions, doing whatever it takes to win. She is still very left wing.

This didn't stop Youngkin from winning.

Pp here.
I’m not swayed by approval ratings.
I listened to various speeches she has given since becoming the candidate. Vice presidents don’t lead on policy.
She handled hecklers well and did not need to resort to siccing her supporters on them. She is neither bombastic nor incoherent. I am not in agreement with all of her policy proposals but the trend of strengthening the middle class is vital to our national security.

I had forgotten her examination of various scotus nominees when she was senator, but she showed herself to be strong and smart in those cases.

Trump is not interested in our national security and will degrade our position as the preeminent hegemon. I cannot in good conscience vote for that.

I disagree with you on her ability to lead or even be truthful. Maybe sit down and answer some non-scripted questions from voters. And I don’t believe for a second that she is pro-fracking, will do anything about crime, do anything about the illegal immigration’s problem that has blown up the past 4 years. Her and Biden could not even admit there was any crisis til late 2023 when NYC started having problems and it was shown on the news.

I respect your reasons to vote for her. I respectfully disagree.

Pp again. At this point, most people agree that immigration needs to be addressed. And I wish Congress had not been intimidated and had passed the Langford bill. While not perfect, it provided some improvements. And I agree with you that the Democratic Party was slow to recognize the problem.

The challenge in my mind is Trump. He is so numbingly unqualified to be commander in chief. He is more interested in being flattered by authoritarians than in standing up for the United States. Harris will stand up for our interests and is not easily intimidated. Trump is a danger to our national security.

Also Trump is suffering from dementia. I personally wish the gop had selected a different candidate, but here we are.

Here is the interview.

He’s not really saying she is lying.
But he is saying that she is charging her policy to get votes that she needs. At least she is saying she is changing her policy. There is no way to fix it if she is elected and simply decides to change her mind back to her original policy on fracking, border, police reform, inflation .

“President Kamala Harris' decision to moderate her views on fracking and Medicare for All "pragmatic," saying that Harris is "doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election" and that he still considers her to be "progressive."
