He should work in any major film as pong as people want to cast him and watch him. Luckily, you don’t have any saying.

Either do you. Considering Disney released him from pirates without knowledge of the op-ed, major studios are not interested in an alcoholic, drug addicted man. Add on his abusive behavior and they are right to steer clear.

He'll be back in movies. He's very much in demand now. He's riding a popularity wave.

Maybe right wing propaganda movies

Right wing propaganda? Have you heard him speak about politics?

I’m aware of his politics but his fans are magats. Plenty of posters here are regurgitating talking points created by right wing shows celebrating and promoting backlash against #metoo.

No one is following Depo except his groupie women/men, abuse victims, lawyers, and people in the DMV.

I’m certainly sick of Depp and his mental disorders. Strategy to drag an Ex through a trial like that is pure narcissist theatrics. Which of course the jury and court system can’t do anything about but live stream (big mistake).

Anyhow, would never watch hiurs and hours of that garbage.

Meryl Streep has heavily supported both Polanski and Weinstein. Why hasn't she been cancelled?

Streep denounced Weinstein years ago.

But I also think that the right thing for Johnny to do now is to make sure that she doesn’t have to pay him that money.

He’s won and gotten what he said he wanted: his “life back.” He doesn’t need the money, and she’s clearly a very sick woman with some severe mental health issues. She can’t pay, and she isn’t likely to get another movie role that will allow her to pay. Her mental health issues (BPD) mean that, as was shown in the trial, she can’t keep friends and is largely alone with her illness. And she has a baby.

I think the only right think for Johnny to do now is to ensure she doesn’t have to pay, urge his fans to leave her alone, and move on with his life and career.

I will be very disappointed in him if that doesn’t happen.

She still has the 7million from the divorce.

Right? Unless she spent it all. But how? She had Musk paying for things at one point and she also got paid for aquaman. Where did all her money go?

How much do you think these teams of lawyers cost? She lives in a modest house by celebrity standards ~800k, doesn't seem to live an extravagant life at all.

It's already been reported and confirmed that she accessed her home owner's insurance policy and the insurance company is paying her legal fees. I wonder if the insurance adjuster refused to make an offer before trial.

Doubt Depp would have accepted an offer bc he wanted to be able to tell his story. It wasn't about winning money from AH. A settlement agreement would have placed restrictions on what he would have been able to say.

If he didn’t actually care about damages, and if he somehow declines the damages, can he be accused of frivolously filing a claim and abusing court time and resources? Basically if he was just petulant and wanted to do this as a public tar and feathering of AH? Talk about abusive! He tried to get the whole world to abuse her!

And it works.

It always works. It’s called post separation abuse.
Anyone in family law knows about it. There’s a reason 95% of divorces can get mediated and never see a court room. And the 5% that do have to litigate have one mental case spouse with money who can manipulate it all. The children are pawns to that person. So is the court system, which sees major $$$$$$$$ from a 1-4 year case like this. $50k an eval, $100/hr supervised visitation, money at social workers who are flying monkeys.
So on and so forth.

Great precedent now. Don’t like something someone said or wrote about you, even without citing your name? Go on live court tv and say whatever the sr you want and get out your illegal secret recordings and edit it down to what you want to show! Good stuff.

Thank gawd I never married a litigator.

JD. Because, in AH own words on one recording, no jury would ever believe he was abused by her.

This response is why there are so many people on JD’s side. They are ignorant of the facts. Hopefully she is able to appeal this verdict and show the world the rest of the evidence. What a horrifying task to have to do.

So you're saying Amber recorded herself telling JD that? I heard the recording during the trial.

Is there a place early on in the trial where any lawyer side explains this to the jury? As for each recording, who was recording, which parties knew they were being recorded, and were they labeled as such in evidence clearly for the jurors? JD could easily have said or not said things to color how he came off on the recordings, as could AH have.

Yes, whichever side enters the evidence has to give context for it and the other side has a chance to provide their own context afterwards. However, both sides had a lot of evidence/context the judge determined wasn’t legally appropriate to enter so I guess that’s what PP means? I didn’t find any redeeming context for AH’s “I didn’t punch you I just hit you” (wtf?!) but perhaps it does exist. Ditto video evidence of JD smashing cabinets. Nothing that appeared in the trial made either of those recorded incidents less reprehensible to me.

And some of the recording was taken by AH secretly (I think this is valid if she thinks she’s being abused tbh) but a lot of the recordings of their arguments were a mutually consensual situation as part of their marital therapy. At least according to what was presented in the trial which is all I’ve been tracking.

She explained the context of that comment in her testimony. She said that in the incident they were discussing, she slapped back at him in self-defense when he hit her. He tried to spin it later like she was the aggressor punching him, but she said in the recording that this was false, she slapped him back but was not punching.

Umbrella policies provide coverage for lots of tort-based claims against individual insureds. They typically have intentional conduct exclusions, but these days those exclusions often provide defense-only coverage, so the insurance carrier will pay for the defense but then will not pa my a judgment if the insured is found to have intentionally committed the wrongful act (which is necessarily proven here since defamation against a public figure requires a finding of intent).

Someone made a comment earlier about the insurance company not being willing to settle. Since the policy likely provided defense-only coverage for this claim, the insurer probably would not have been willing to pay more than the cost of continuing the defense toward a settlement. Anything beyond that would have had to come from Heard’s pocket.

Didn't we hear her insurance is paying for her lawyers and experts?

Yes. Her homeowner’s policy is paying for her defense. In fact the Vice President of Travelers Insurance (her insurance provider) has been seen with Heard and in the courtroom sitting on her side.

Is this real? How is this possible?

Yeah how does homeowners insurance cover legal fees for a defamation case?

She made a lot clear it was self defense and he was purposely escalating discussions or disagreements.

Terriblly poor communication and zero conflict resolution. .

I would coach anyones daughter to be able to ID his dysfunctional style asap and GTfO.

How typical. YOU are way too important and busy to waste time watching the actual trial but that doesn’t stop you from vomiting out your half-assed opinions for the world to see.

Also, if you have time to post here in the thread about a trial you are too above to actually watch, then you have a lot more free time you are wasting than you seem to realize.

Anonymous wrote:I actually agree with that outcome until Elaine made her rounds with the talk show circuit screaming unfair trial, how her client is the real victim, how this is a loss for women's rights, and their plan to appeal the verdict. They are doubling down criticizing the judge, jurors, social media while never admitting their own mistakes and AH's issues with credibility. How can JD move on if AH's team is still attacking him? I think JD's monetary award is the best way to keep her from causing more troubles. Maybe they can broker a deal where she has to move on (no appeal) if he doesn't seek to collect the debt?

If I had lost 6 weeks of my life to serve as a juror for that circus of a trial, followed all of the instructions and refrained from looking at social media and discussing the case and then had the counsel for the losing side insinuate that I'd broken the rules I would be beyond FURIOUS. Not a good look, Elaine.

I do not think they had to "break the rules" to hear something. There are TV feeds at train stations, restaurant
s, grocery lines, airports, waiting rooms, etc. There are radio feeds and conversations in public spaces. You would not have had to look anything up or actually engage in a conversation to
hear things about this trial. That is what I think EB was referring to. As a juror, would you stick your fingers in your ears at work or at a bus stop if people were talking? Maybe you could wear ear buds ever day....

Metro has televisions in the subways now? Restaurants with televisions are airing ESPN not E TV. I doubt the jurors were in the airports as they were stuck on this jury. What waiting rooms?

not sure what is in the metro- Amtrak, airports, grocery stores, auto repair all have CNN running constantly and Microsoft is always trying to
put news feeds on devices, but YMMV.

Yeah but the jurors were not on Amtrak or the airports. They were sitting in a courthouse for six weeks and unable to travel. There are no televisions in the grocery stores playing the court cases and CNN, not even Harris Teeter or Whole Foods. I cannot speak for autobody shops.

Yeah, I avoided all those places as a normal person for two months without trying, I'm sure jurors stuck in a court room 40-odd hours a week actively trying to avoid it had no problems.

I am actually tired of this discussion but the jurors had Fris off from court and a week off when the judge was at a conference so presumably they went about their usual business- commuting, working, shopping, ferrying kids places, etc. so exposed to the rest of the world.

Sounds significantly larger/nicer than her CA home.

TMZ has pulled down their article about the house, so I suspect they discovered they’d been duped.

That seems like it would be cheaper than renting a hotel.
