Help me understand the impact of a $15 minimum wage?

Jobs that pay poverty wages aren’t good jobs. We can create better jobs if we cut those out and families could actually support themselves on 2 jobs instead of 4, or cash under the table. More jobs does not necessarily mean better.

Cutting out those jobs would substantially kill thousands of small businesses. And, small business makes up the bulk of our economy.
Go ahead and insist that big corporations - Walmart, Amazon, etc. - pay $15. Anyone supporting a family can seek employment at these companies. But, small businesses should not require this. Then, the teens and college students - WHO ARE NOT SUPPORTING THEMSELVES - can still be employed and the small businesses can survive.

What world do you live in that no teens or college students are working to support themselves? If a business can't afford it's labor, it's a failing business. Why do you think it's okay to ask employees to prop up these failing businesses by accepting poverty wages? And taxpayers by extension, since we pay for the welfare programs that these employees being paid poverty wages must then turn to?

I used to work for tips. Tips are a total scam, and a way of employers effectively charging higher prices while paying their employees less. Instead of them deciding what their employees are worth, the customer decides, and most customers end up underpaying, but the employer doesn't get the blame. This is why low wage workers need the tips and high wage workers don't.

I didn't say that (but I knew some predictible moron would claim that I did) I said it specifically benefits attractive white people, and has been shown to hurt everyone else. You can say you do whatever you want, but the research has shown that implicit bias absolutely has an effect on whose service is considered good and thus who receives better tips.
