yes, democrats realize that government is not a competition.  It is people coming together to try to make civilization instead of anarchy.

Seems as if Democrats don't care that raising the min. wage to $15 would put 1.4 million people out of work.  You call this "coming together?"

I personally think that any move toward raising the min. wage must be tied to using eVerify and there must be a carve out for small businesses.

Cutting out those jobs would substantially kill thousands of small businesses.  And, small business makes up the bulk of our economy.  
Go ahead and insist that big corporations - Walmart, Amazon, etc. - pay $15.  Anyone supporting a family can seek employment at these companies.  But, small businesses should not require this.  Then, the teens and college students - WHO ARE NOT SUPPORTING THEMSELVES - can still be employed and the small businesses can survive.  [/quote]

Businesses CAN afford their labor.  Now.  Many of you want to pull the rug out from under them.

I used to work for tips.  Tips are a total scam, and a way of employers effectively charging higher prices while paying their employees less.  Instead of them deciding what their employees are worth, the customer decides, and most customers end up underpaying, but the employer doesn't get the blame.  This is why low wage workers need the tips and high wage workers don't.[/quote]

Tipping also benefits attractive white people and hurts minorities and less attractive people. Tipping is a relic of slavery and Jim Crow, and it needs to go. [/quote]
