Yo. For real though- this family BROUGHT the fashion for this. And actual fashion, attainable but on point and NOT just about women being femme bots like telemundo weather ladies. I lurve a tux on a woman, with an open bow tie especially and am 100% buying one for the next time I get to do the fundraising gala thing in person. |

Michelle Obama's outfit slayed too, that was the perfect proportion with coat, belt, pants for her body. I also just love how much W. seems to love Michelle. Like, he stans and that's always funny to see the memes of.
And in the coverage of the entrances, it was also fun to see Laura Bush get people to light up a little when they saw her too (President Obama gave her a huge "smize", you could tell). Bernie's practical Vermont mittens obviously stole the internet. |
Melania also looked great. Ivanka was always a mess. |
Dr. Biden usually looks MUCH better. She seemed to be channeling the Queen of England with her matched dress, matched coat, obviously dyed gloves. She was the one who really needed jewel tones with her light hair. Nancy Pelosi should have helped with the selection. Even Amy Klobuchar (who I actually admire except for her fashion sense) looked better than Jill Biden. Hillary looked fat and dumpy I watched CSpan and she and Bill got to the top of the steps and he was mobbed and she basically moved on without him. |
| This is the inauguration thread. |
Don't see much comparison to the Queen of England at all. JB looks warm and natural, not cold and stuffy. |
She looks like she lost weight and finally got a good haircut. I am not sure if the all black look was deliberate (mourning?), but it fit well and would have benefited from a bit of color. On the other hand, on her departure, Melania looked great with her suit, long black gloves, red soled Louboutins and Birkin bag. She was wearing about $30,000 to $40,000. Let me just add another women who deserves some recognition. She is probably the wife of the Joint Base Andrews commander because she seemed to be there with her husband to greet the Trumps and escort them around. She was wearing a double breasted purple-red coat with gold buttons and black boots. Her blondish hair was pulled back in a soft bun like Melania's. She was dressed appropriately for the weather and carried herself well and handled everything smoothly. There was a back view of her and her husband (he was in full military mufti) standing on the tarmac as Trump's plan departed. I hope someone gives them a photograph of the moment because it captures what it means to be a military spouse. Sorry -- political junkie here -- and I took off yesterday to do my four year binge watching of every aspect of the Inauguration. |
You do know that judicial robes are black. not jewel toned. |
Go to Alfred Street Baptist on any Sunday (even during the pandemic) and you will see this type of look. |
Janet Yellen was the female version of Bernie. |

This is really funny; although I think at some point there was going to be a woman in the White House wearing a purple (bipartisan color) suit and classic pearls. And whenever that happened someone would bring out this proof that Simpsons predicted it. (Maybe the argument is that it happened so soon (?) ) Anyway, there are other things that I think are more of a coincidence or can be looked at as "predictions", but I don't think this is that. btw, I do love VP Kamala and Lisa, too. |
Aww he needed to bundled up more. His little hands look cold Otherwise adorable. and he looked so cute during the family celebration at the WH last night.

I just have to walk around the office. This is how the black men in my office dress. Always so polished and professional. |

The colors of the women's suffrage movement were gold, violet and white (Give Votes to Women).
Whether it was all intentional or not, I smiled seeing so many of the women at the Capitol yesterday in those colors. |
+1 I really thought we could lose all the dog whistles when Biden became president. If I never see any form of the word "misogynist" again, i will be thrilled. |
