Okay, hear me out. I think this is a rare misstep from Nancy Pelosi. Love that she and her hubby coordinated. That's adorns. I love the color too. The cut is awful, especially for her. Pelosi has an amazing body for an 80yo. She's a tiny little thing except for the boobs. The cut of this coat does not show that. The lack of shape is not helpful to her. I also don't like that the skirt is longer than the jacket and I do not like the big pockets.

I agree with the PP - I think this outfit has a bit of a retro nurse feel to it. Usually Pelosi is flawless in her clothes, I think this outfit is a bit off. But still better than 99 percent of what anyone else is wearing.

I think this is probably the case. Would also explain why Kamala looked so stiff and Jill's coat didn't fit right either.

I think the recently-added body armor impacted many of the outfits -- Jill Biden's dress and coat were custom made long before people thought she would need a layer of Kevlar. I'm sure Hillary was wearing some too given Qanon's obsession with her. I was only surprised that Michelle O. didn't seem to be wearing any -- but I suppose nobody tells her what to do anymore.

This could be completely wrong. It seems unlikely that someone would have bought two gorgeous designer coats (though Pelosi is very rich and loves clothes so who knows) but I wonder if Pelosi had intended to wear the coat she was wearing today for the inauguration. She wore it to her presser with the same dress as she wore yesterday (different shell). It seemed odd to me that she was wearing a heavy coat inside but I could see it as an inauguration coat. It looks like it would be too fitted to fit a vest under it so maybe she bought the other one to replace it since it would easily fit the vest without any bulge.

This outfit isn't cute or fashionable. If Tiff or Ivanka would have wore this everyone would be tearing it apart. Granted, it is probably this woman's style, but it is weird and not pretty. But she looks fine, groomed, put-together. I guess you can only wear ugly clothes and have it be acceptable if you also aren't trying to look sexy and have fake blonde hair/breasts.

Well yes, that is part of it. It has to fit in with your overall look. If you overall look like you are having yourself surgeried into a living sex doll, then your clothes are going to be read in that context. With this young woman, she looks like she is a young creative who doesn't care if you think she's sexy or good looking - she's wearing what she likes because she likes it, not because she's trying to present herself as merchandise. She looks like someone you would talk to because you think she has something interesting to say.

I think the MiuMiu dress is ugly as hell (my mother had that collar on a polyester granny dress from the early 70s), but she’s not going to be representing the White House. She’s not going to be representing the US. She’s just family of the new administration and as such she gets to look “more normal.” And this appears to be in keeping with her aesthetic as a Brooklyn dwelling art student. I mean come on. That ugly outfit is perfect for that kind of person!

It’s the Kevlar. All the women who looked misshapen were pretty much all in Kevlar. Men can switch out suits and jackets a lot easier than women’s dresses can be.

I think Nancy looks amazing. I will stop there. No one that is 80 has an amazing body, but that is not what anyone is expecting from Nancy. I love the cut and color or the coat. It is winter and cold and she is 80.
