Mike Morell is a truly dedicated person who tries as best as possible to be non-partisan in the execution of his duties. While he may not be progressive, he is absolutely as liberal as they come.

Yes. I know him.

Are we supposed to be impressed? I know him too.

? D/CIA is a Cabinet position.

Not until Trump. We'll see if Biden retains that.

Morell is awful. Not someone i would like to see anywhere near this administration - and I consider myself fairly centrist (although to the left). He's the type of guy who needs to be blasted into outer space (and frankly there are some people like him in NatSec in multiple agencies who i'd love to see shown the door).

I don't have strong feelings either way, except for the question of what does Mike Morell bring to the table that say, a Gina Haspel does not?

Yes, he was DDCIA and Acting Director twice. Obama didn't want him as Director - twice, and he was the Deputy under Petraeus, who was widely loathed. In the last 7 years he's been a pundit, written a book, and has a podcast. I simply don't see what he brings to the table. And who cares whether he's liberal or progressive?

A challenger emerges.

I’m hoping it’s Fauci.

Shouldn’t we get through Covid before we give him a Dept? And I like him, but he is about to turn 80.

FFS, Fauci doesn’t want HHS. He is not into the politics even though he is good at navigating politics. He is a scientist and Dr. at heart. . They’re going to have to take him out of his current position in a pine box like RBG.

Either one would be fine, although I’d love to see another woman appointed as D/CIA.

I find this one to be a head-scratcher and I think a lot of other people would as well.

I also saw this article mentioning Vince Stewart, who makes a lot more sense.

That BR sustainable investing wasn't so sustainable.

Rubio is getting torn apart for this complete BS. Trump’s cabinet is full of Ivy leaguers.

There is something to be said for the Team of Rivals approach taken by both Lincoln and Obama. There should be differing views and rigorous debate within the Cabinet. Not sure if that will happen with so many ex-Biden staffers in cabinet positions, plus the Secretary of State and likely Secretary of Defense were actually business partners in consulting for a number of years. At least Neera Tanden seems like she is a disrupter.
