Yes, but with the margin so close, why take chances? |
They also don’t want to lose more of the leadership. Wonder if this means Bass and Lee end up staying put. |
Yes - he’s in a district that gerrymandered New Orleans AND Baton Rouge together so he’s the only D in LA. But there are plenty of other qualified Ds in seats that aren’t as safe, plus a bunch of great Ds just lost their seats. Let’s keep the special elections to a minimum. |
Why would it be far fetched for Morrell to be D/CIA? He’s been DD/CIA twice. |
Does anyone know if Julianne Smith will be joining the admin. I'd actually hoped she'd get a look for UN ambassador or a sr deputy position at state - but those are probably too big a step up from when she was working for Biden before.
|
^^ PP here. Also, does Eric Fanning's post-Obama career make him a total no-go for any Biden admin job? |
Morell is awful. Not someone i would like to see anywhere near this administration - and I consider myself fairly centrist (although to the left). He's the type of guy who needs to be blasted into outer space (and frankly there are some people like him in NatSec in multiple agencies who i'd love to see shown the door). |
I think Fanning is an extreme example. He literally became the Head of the Military Industrial Complex. He sold out to the highest decree. He may be experienced, but politically, that would not foolish on Biden’s part. |
Correction** That would be foolish on Biden’s part. |
Fair enough. I'm the PP who raised Fanning. It's not like i'm into the Military Industrial Complex or anything. I agree it would be a problem to nominate him for anything. I was just wondering. I've always liked him, that's all. |
Just quoting my own post - Julie Smith and Eric Fanning were two of my fave people from the Obama admin. I get why Fanning is toxic at this point. I hope Julie gets a good job, though. |
Agreed. Yeah, I hope She does as well. Maybe a deputy to Blinken or a high position on the NSC? |
