It's pretty well known in LA that Kobe (along with most other NBA players) regularly cheat on their wives. He had a separate apartment/space IN the Staples Center for these activities. Vanessa was completely complicit. I guess it was worth it for all the money.

No one is saying that Kobe isn't a great basketball player. What happened in 2003 or later on, including when his wife in 2011 file for divorce citing his numerous adulterous affairs, could be very dark. Just because he settled doesn't mean he didn't do anything. We have no idea what happened or if he intimidated the accuser or whatever else.
