| Only entitled white feminists are dragging Kobe's name through the mud right now. Could not even let the flames cool off before going straight into the agenda. What a vile bunch. |
| Yep. Lots of folks on here with their own agenda. But if Kobe was alive they would run you over to introduce him to their kids or take a pic with him. |
I don’t know...I wouldn’t start guessing on who is besmirching him. I’m white female feminist (not angry!) and I’ve been defending his legacy against criticism. |
You make a good point. Not all white feminists. But of those who have publicly gone out of their way to drag Kobe it's a fairly noticeable pattern. You have to ask yourself what else is at work here... |
The guy has everyone from Trump, Obama, Ahmadinejad, Biden, Breitbart, Bill O'Reilly, Kaepernick etc. paying respects yet people from mainly one demo cannot even let the ashes settle before dredging up dirt and churning on the agenda. Can you not be the center of attention for at least a day?!? |

Small vaginal tears and lacerations can happen outside of rape. All you have to go is google vaginal tears and s*x and you can find a lot about it.
In this case the tear could be the result of his d*ck size, a lack of lubrication or foreplay, and the fact that he was rough. After reading all the documents I can find, I am of the opinion that the sex started consensually and then he got rough with her - something she had not anticipated or explicitly consented to. It would be difficult to pinpoint at what exact moment it became non consensual or if the tears happened before or after that point. He had no regard for what she was experiencing and just did his usual thing (that he did with his mistress). When she verbally said no (when he asked if he could ejaculate on her face), he stopped immediately. It doesn't sound like there was any conversation or communication either about wanting or not wanting the rough s*x. |
Yes, shame on us white feminists, not wanting to hero worship an adulterer and accused rapist because he was good at a sport... It's sad he died. I feel for his family/kids. But he was just another man, a flawed man. |
Right on cue, the accusation is enough. You lot have jumped the shark. White feminists are so privileged can not comprehend what someone like Kobe meant to many, many people. The agenda is all that matters! Everyone is flawed. What an empty statement. |
Oh, you mean on TV? I misunderstood, I thought you were referring to people on DCUM! I suppose he has enough baggage and the truth is truth. People can’t run from past mistakes, as much as we want to. However, for most people, Kobe Bryant will be remembered positively and his legacy will be bigger than anyone could have imagined. |
I am not white, but am a feminist and am defending his legacy too. |
We are all flawed people (you too, my love!). |
And in the time that has lapsed since then the standards for consent have changed drastically. Was "yes means yes" even a thing then? Modern activists like to hold people of erstwhile periods to their new fangled standards. It's silly. |
|
Is it not all a part of his legacy?
If now isn’t the time to talk about it (and I’m not saying it is), at which magical date can we discuss the hard part? |
For feminists of color, particularly black feminists, it is more complicated because they grasp how important of a figure Kobe was and what he meant for communities of color and their sons, fathers, boyfriends, brothers etc. It is devastating for them. |

Ok, so he's a HERO because:
He played basketball really well. He's an attentive and loving father Good friend Helps out those less fortunate than himself. Sounds like basically all the dads and frankly moms I know except for the basketball part. If you'd like to see some real heroes, like actual people selflessly working for the good of mankind check out Pandemic on Netflix and check your priorities. I know science is harder than basketball for a lot of people but these people are sacrificing and working and risking their lives sometimes to save our species, but yeah let the millions mourn a basketball player who might be a rapist. And then some wonder why we are where we are as a nation. |
