Fine. Let him go. But kick him out of Frogmore or make him reimburse them for renovations and start paying rent.

I mean Charles has been very clear on wanting to streamline the monarchy for years. So Harry and MM would have gotten the boot eventually, likely once William is on the throne and his kids are older.

I suspect Charles would have provided for Harry to ensure he and his kids would be financially set for life regardless.

Harry is ditching the royals so he can amass an even bigger fortune with no questions asked. It’s a dick move; William is left to shoulder the duties and he won’t be able to build a celebrity fortune.

I hope Charles leaves the bulk of his estate to Will.

Harry has been ‘shouldering the burden’ since his early 20s with his military career, Invictus Foundation, and royal duties.

It’s time William stepped up and actually produced something. So if this is the kick in the pants he needed - by all means.

Prince William put in the most work, attending 150 engagements in the United Kingdom and 70 engagements on official, overseas tours.

Prince Harry trails William with 108 engagements in the U.K. and 85 overseas.

Google it.

Imagine that. The year Harry first became a father he only had 200+ engagements.

Don’t make me laugh.

Did they really announce they were leaving the royal family in an Instagram post??!!

That makes me laugh. Harry has always been the party boy who bristled at being part of the Royal family and all the rules. Meghan loves the spotlight as long as only praise is directed her way. They will do well in Hollywood. They can party and instagram and call the paparazzi when they want them.

I am sure financially they are fine. Unless Charles cuts off their allowance - and even then they have Diana's money.

Brits are probably fed up and done with them.

Meghan did more in two-and-a-half years than Kate has done in 18.

I think half the problem is the royals asked Meghan to STOP working so hard. She needs to be productive and will all the 2020 launches they have scheduled, unfettered by firm rules, the BRF is looking more archaic by the day.

Not true. You can google the # of events each did, and Kate did more.

In 2019...when Meghan gave birth and had a freaking four-month maternity leave.

Kate SHOULD have been doing more. It would be a disgrace if she hadn’t.

If they really want to be that independent the they should give up their titles and become like Peter and Zara Phillips. It looks like they want all the benefits of their royal status and none of the responsibilities.

Zara Phillips lives with her mom in the house EII bought for Anne...

I would love to be that type of financially independent. !

Will is already set to have more than Harry as he is the actual heir.

Did you just start following the royal family? Your propaganda is completely false. Prince Harry has always been a mess who plays the poor me Diana died Card whenever he gets called out for bad behavior.

My predictions came true . Harry cognizant of the fact that the throne is not his business married a woman that he actually likes as opposed to one who was going to fit some 'royal criteria' . A clear indication that he intended to live his life as he sees fit. I once wondered if Meghan actually wanted to live in the UK with it's never ending crappy weather. The tabloids might've inadvertently provided the perfect alibi to ditch those eternally grey British skies.

He lost his mother under very tragic circumstances at a very young age, you don't recover from this type of trauma.NEVER . If the British media's portrayal of his wife is in his view reminiscent of the same type of circus that led to his mother untimely death , who is anyone including his grand mother to tell him otherwise ????
The British press can write what they want with the accompanying dog whistles, racial innuendo and what not . Harry is also free to do what he deems necessary to protect his family . If anything he should be applauded for taking the well being of his nuclear family very seriously as he's OBLIGATED to do . He's a class act , Ben aflfeck and Brad pitt who have no shortage of defenders on this forum could learn a thing or two .

He's a jerk to ditch his brother, the rest of his family, and his duty.

Nothing classy about it.

Meghan didn’t marry into the family until May of that year. Of course she would have fewer engagements.

More than a decade ago, I watched an interview with Harry in which he either outright said or hinted that he may eventually leave the BRF and wistfully said his dream job was to be a safari guide in Africa.

I also was in the military at the same time as him and recall when the British press leaked that he was serving in combat and he had to return home immediately. He was said to be devastated and I recall everyone being stunned that the British press would do that to their own prince. He was just a young guy at the time and really in his element in the military. He even dated some US military girls. That got taken from him, along with his mom, his innocence when he was made to walk with his mother's casket on display for media consumption, etc. Nothing is sacred. And now he's got a young son to worry about. Why should he trust them with Archie?

Harry is sovereign over himself, his future, his conscience. As Americans we should all recognize that our country broke away from England because of its stifling lack of freedom. Here, Harry can be himself and make something of himself that wasn't ordained by him by tradition. It doesn't get more American than what Harry just did. He will fit in well and be a great addition to our country.

Lovely how the discussion always circles back to William and Kate. Meghan and her fans are obsessed with destroying them. It’s not a good look! Your insecurities are showing because Kate and William are beloved and truly respected by the Commonwealth.
