Any thoughts on this club formation / system question?

Thoughts on what VDA says they do or what they actually do?

Could we start with what formation they play? 4-3-3 or 3-4-3? Different by coach / team? Say and do should be consistent on that.

It was explained in excruciating detail in last week's town hall. watch it yourself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnXUvFD9h2s

What was explained and what actually gets implemented is two different things if you just watch them play across various age groups. Question is still valid

How about AS at U13/U14?

Not sure. Probably lurks the board like most of the coaches in this area do. AYE AS, what formation you like to run?

This is because the two feeder clubs don't share any similarities nor do they 'develop' players to fit this so called style of play that they have. They do a good job of trying to get their pools together during the U12 years an idea of what their future team will look like but there is no system in place that unifies a methodology amongst the clubs so teams transition easier and can identify which players fit their system.

How much of a new U13 team is typically made up of PWSI and VSA players vs. outside players?

I think a good average as of late has been anywhere from 3-5 outside players.

I think 3-5 on boys side is a fair estimate of outside (non VSA, PWSI, or Herndon) players for the first year of ECNL.

Id like to run a 3-5-2 but dont have good enough defenders or mids, so i stick with a 4-3-3. The back 4 and mid 3 just need to kick it forward to my speedsters and we win the game 1 or 2 zero by just flooding the zone

Along with some borderline dirty plays, a couple yellow cards and general rough play to keep any opposing team from getting any ideas about actually trying to play a skilled game....also forgot to throw in some heckling of the opposing team by parents......thats the winning formula

Switching it up with a little possession play and letting your midfielders actually do their jobs might stop that whole rubberband thing that happens with the 25yd gap between forwards and middies. 1v3 attack hoping for a lucky bounce isn't very dynamic. Just a suggestion from someone who plays fifa every now and then.
